Earth pigments, paint, painting, printmaking, eco colour and visual arts; Canterbury, South Island, New Zealand. Hot Off the Press. 27 July, 2015. An Image in Search of a Title. Hot Off the Press. Four printmakers showing at Arts in Oxford Gallery. Oxford, North Canterbury. The textiles could be passed down the generations and so also become holders of memory, in much same way as in old patchwork quilts. In this set of prints I have interpreted this textile construction method by reusing the plastic, pap...

And in the end… | the daily dyer
https://thedailydyer.wordpress.com/2014/01/01/and-in-the-end
A daily look inside the dye studio. About the daily dyer. And in the end…. January 1, 2014. 8230;the love you take. Is equal to the love you make. And here we are- at the end. Not exactly Abbey Road but a road nonetheless. It has been one year of the daily dyer and I will leave this up through the end of January as several of you have written to me asking to have time to catch up here. Then I think I’ll just let it go and delete it. I also want to say thanks for all the love I get from you all- it is equ...

Artist’s Statement | Clare Wassermann Art

Art in acrylic, oil and stitch or embroidery. I love the idea of layer upon layer in paint, memories and experience. Some paintings have ten or even twenty layers built up and most are in response to my meditation and yoga practice. All are a pure celebration of my external and internal landscape. Juxtaposition of edges and colour combinations excite me. I use recurring symbols, meaningful to me and sometimes words in my layers, building up and letting go of images as I work. 8230;practicing the fine art of shibori. 2017 Silk Study Tour to Japan. Pressing on… indigo and other stuff. On this hot and muggy Sunday I finish up a large order of the shibori ribbon and wonder. Often when I wonder about what I am doing I take to the vat and gain some perspective. Besides, I have a couple of workshops ahead of me here-3 that involve indigo and need some wondering and planning time. Today the natural vat has a good coppery sheen but little flower. however, it is dyeing well. And combin...
