So it does seem that I am taking a lot of pictures and a lot of videos as the intern whenever I work an event, but I still love it and love going to all these great places! It is hard to find any form of media that doesn't interact with another form, but I've been surprised as to how many examples of convergence culture I have seen within my internship at 98 Rock. I find it very interesting that radio has now adopted a technology that was typically used primarily with cell phone technology, and the line between which technology fit with which media is becoming blurrier every day. Sunday, September 14, 2008. The fabulous life of an unpaid intern. I have been an intern with WPOC 93.1 for two weeks now and, overall, things have been great! I've done a lot of work on their website. Which has been interesting since that's not exactly something I would normally brag about being good at. I've updated a lot of community events. Friday, February 22, 2008. Consumer Citizenship and How I Waste My Money. I’ll admit that I’ve never thought of myself in terms of being a consumer citizen, but I know that I am, so now I’m thinking about it. I pay for my own tuition without student loans, which is about $5000 every semester after books and such, not including winter and summer session. So obviously, that is where a large bulk of my money goes. Thank you UMBC! Let’s hope this Bachelor’s Degree turns into a high paying job!

And as my luck would have it, we also spoke with Mel B. from the Spice Girls on Friday! That would be early for anyone, but you could certainly tell in her voice that she was tired. Wednesday, February 4, 2009. Michael Phelps, 98 Rock, and how my internship lead me to being outside of his house with a bullhorn. So far, I absolutely love my internship! I learn something new every day, and have had the opportunity to be part of some hilarious projects.
