Codex:Creo -->Component > Merge
http://www.codexcreo.com/component_merge.html
This document will describe the process of creating a ‘Merge Model’ in an assembly. Merge models are useful for some simulation models. The process is performed in an assembly. An empty part is created in the assembly, and geometry from one or more components are copied, or merged into the empty part. The net result is that the merge part contains the geometry from the referenced model, but has one the merge feature in its model tree. Starting from inside the assembly, create a new empty part. Note the m...

Codex:Creo -->Library with 64 bit OS
http://www.codexcreo.com/library_64-bit.html
Utilizing libraries with 64 bit machines. There are several libraries available from PTC for use in your designs. Prehaps you have a collection of vendor supplied models, or your own internally developed models. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to leverage those components in your new designs, without having to add a train-load of search paths to your config.pro file? Well, there are two options:. Make sure the system environment variable PRO LIBRARY DIR. Open command prompt (DOS Window). Enter the path of...

Codex:Creo -->Annotation Extracts
http://www.codexcreo.com/AE_UDF.html
Annotation Extracts and UDF's for Manufacturing. Here is a bit of instructions for setting up and using UDF’s for both Design and Manufacturing. We’ll start by looking at a specific hole feature on a part. This is a ‘standard’ hole, created with a sketched feature. Next, I created a ‘blank’ part, to use as the basis for the UDF / Annotation feature. I started with a basic protrusion, no need to get fancy. Highlight all three sequences, then select the Create Template icon in the process manager. We’re pr...

Desiderata - by max ehrmann. Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. Take kindly to the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield y...

Codex:Creo -->Library Access
http://www.codexcreo.com/library_access.html
Using Pro/LIBRARYACCESS To Reduce The Number Of search path Options For Assembly Retrieval. If a component model is stored in the last directory listed by search path, Pro/ENGINEER will search in all of the other directories before finding the model. This can generate performance issues when searching large quantities of data stored on shared network drives. Currently, there are some config.pro options that can help in these cases:. Nt cache dirs see TAN 18949. Dir cache max see TAN 110519. NOTE: The las...
