Flowers in the Desert: Stateside
http://flowersinthedesertblog.blogspot.com/2011/01/stateside.html
Flowers in the Desert. Discovering God in times of drought. January 25, 2011. It's a little strange to be back. The coins feel lighter. We're already gaining weight from eating all the foods we've been missing. The t.v. shows are pretty ridiculous. Is "From G's to Gents" a real. Show that people actually watch? We're not any closer to figuring out what we want to do with our lives, but the Graco Nautilus. Is working out pretty well for us. So, that give us some hope for the future. A Foot in Each Country.

Flowers in the Desert. Discovering God in times of drought. May 31, 2010. The one we had in our parish this year was a compromise, since we are in a Chilean parish, but the two priests and two lay missionaries in charge of the event are all foreigners! May 22, 2010. The Best Present EVER. Joshua is at a stage where he doesn't like anything, he only loves. It Guitars are under the love. His best Hendrix impression. May 8, 2010. Flowers in the Desert. Discovering God in times of drought. December 27, 2010. Last *sniff* Christmas in Chile. Officially, our contract ended in October. But, we wanted to stay on longer so we could finish out the pastoral year, accompany the kids during their Confirmation and spend our last Christmas here with the community. We're anxious to see our family, but we just weren't ready to say goodbye in October. So, here are some photos of our last holiday here in Alto Hospicio:. Joshua had on his festive...

Flowers in the Desert. Discovering God in times of drought. March 18, 2011. So, we guess this is it. As time goes on, we realize more and more that our time in Chile is over. This is not a vacation. It's now home. But, it doesn't feel like home yet. Reverse culture shock is still going strong. We find everything strange and feel as if we don't quite fit in. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Flowers in the Desert: A Foot in Each Country
http://flowersinthedesertblog.blogspot.com/2011/01/foot-in-each-country.html
Flowers in the Desert. Discovering God in times of drought. January 12, 2011. A Foot in Each Country. We made our first big commitment and bought a car seat online. David's parents will be picking us up at the airport and unlike in Chile, Joshua riding in the back seat on Anna's lap is not an option. The car seat was kind of a metaphor for the life laying ahead of us: first, we had to research the seats. Which one was the safest? Which one the most user friendly? What does RF, FF, and B mean? COLUMBAN LA...

Flowers in the Desert. Discovering God in times of drought. January 4, 2011. This last one is Joshua playing in Gringuita's travel cage. We think that both of them would have enjoyed the flight a lot more if they could have traded places. Ill have to get a copy of the picture of Joshua and Alec on the [much fought over] trikes . how did you get them both looking at the same time? January 4, 2011 at 4:29 PM. January 4, 2011 at 7:42 PM. Flowers in the Desert. Discovering God in times of drought. June 22, 2010. On Sunday afternoon, about 70 youth and 10 adults showed up at our chapel for a caminata. Hiking excursion). We've written about a couple of caminatas here. The kids arrived relatively on time (only twenty minutes late! The view from the top is spectacular. You can see all of our neighborhood, all of Alto Hospicio and even the ocean down in Iquique. Since it's winter, the fog was pretty thick and we couldn't see the ocean ...The k...

Flowers in the Desert: July 2010
http://flowersinthedesertblog.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Flowers in the Desert. Discovering God in times of drought. July 20, 2010. Our last visitor left yesterday. That was a long two week vacation. Ten visitors past through, some staying a couple of days and many staying over a week. We were pretty worn out yesterday, but after they left, we got a blast of energy and were able to put the house back in order, put Joshua to bed in his own room (thank goodness! July 12, 2010. Surprisingly, he found not one, but three people to bring back! July 3, 2010. They the...
