Pittsburgh Food Scene: December 2011
http://pittsburghfoodscene.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 22, 2011. China Star in the North Hills area. I tried China Star for the first time. My last job was close to the restaurant, but I never had the opportunity to go. Now that I've been there, I fully regret not going there during my last job. The Szechuan cuisine was amazing, and I got to try ox tongue. Check out the video. Posted by Pittsburgh Food Scene. Labels: Eating Out - Chinese. Tuesday, December 13, 2011. All in Good Taste Productions. This is the Roasted Herb Crusted Domestic L...

Pittsburgh Food Scene: August 2012
http://pittsburghfoodscene.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 28, 2012. Warrior Dash and Turkey Legs. This past Sunday I participated in the Warrior Dash. Awesome medal I got just for finishing the race. My two friends and I muddy. Runners awaiting the results. Runners just hanging out. My results. I actually finished below 50 minutes, which was more than. I could ask for. Awaiting for the dreaded shower. Almost to the shower. It was mighty cold. Caterers with the turkey legs. This big to be honest. I am pretty sure this isn't natural or organic.

Sabor PGH...: Alma Pan-Latin Kitchen (with a much smaller crowd)
http://srtacibulkasavors.blogspot.com/2012/09/alma-pan-latin-kitchen-with-much.html
A blog for my students, and anyone else interested in the Latino/Hispanic presence in the Pittsburgh area. Monday, September 10, 2012. Alma Pan-Latin Kitchen (with a much smaller crowd). I can't believe I haven't made it back to Alma in over a year. Wow. I had wanted to go back for awhile, and James. Even commented several times that he'd like to go, since he had never been (and I, of course, raved about my first visit). But, a busy summer of working and taco-truck mania. Prevented us from doing so.

Pittsburgh Food Scene: June 2012
http://pittsburghfoodscene.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 30, 2012. A few years back, I was watching an episode of The Office where Michael Scott and his crazy girlfriend Jan hosted a dinner party for some of the employees of Dunder Mifflin. Well into the party, the topic of dinner finally came about. Jan said to everyone that she is cooking ossobuco and here is in my opinion one of the best parts of the episode:. Pam Beesly: Oh, I- I can help, starting dinner if you need it. Took a picture while the shanks are still being braised. For the sa...

Pittsburgh Food Scene: Costa Rica Day 1(Flying)
http://pittsburghfoodscene.blogspot.com/2012/09/costa-rica-day-1flying.html
Thursday, September 27, 2012. Costa Rica Day 1(Flying). We landed at the airport, and it was fairly unmemorable. I think mainly because I wasn't able to step on Texas ground. That would be an important moment in my life. One minor highlight though was seeing people drinking at the bar at 8:00 AM. They are definitely off to a good start for the day. Posted by Pittsburgh Food Scene. September 27, 2012 at 5:52 AM. Drinking at 8 am? My kind of people : ). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Eating Out - Cajun.

Pittsburgh Food Scene: October 2011
http://pittsburghfoodscene.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 28, 2011. Dormont Food Tour Experience. All in all, I would rate the tour 9.5 out of 10 only because I didn't like the grocery bags. Okay, I'm being a jerk. I'll give it a 9.7 out of 10. Happy now, blog readers? I also want to give mad props to my friend Dave who helped me with this project by being my camera guy. Burgh Bits and Bites. Diamond Goat Media, my friend Dave's website. Posted by Pittsburgh Food Scene. Monday, October 24, 2011. Posted by Pittsburgh Food Scene. Eating Out - Cajun.

Sabor PGH...: ...Casa Rasta helps the Spanish Club
http://srtacibulkasavors.blogspot.com/2012/03/casa-rasta-helps-spanish-club.html
A blog for my students, and anyone else interested in the Latino/Hispanic presence in the Pittsburgh area. Thursday, March 8, 2012. Casa Rasta helps the Spanish Club. Kids hate fundraising. Fact. I know that when I had to fund-raise, my parents took countless catalogs to work, family members, friends-of-friends, etc. to get them to buy things that they probably didn't need - frozen pizzas, chocolate bunnies, pies, wrapping paper, lottery tickets.I could go on forever. Why? To save themselves money. Peopl...

Sabor PGH...: Kitchen Experiment: Pupusas
http://srtacibulkasavors.blogspot.com/2013/12/kitchen-experiment-pupusas.html
A blog for my students, and anyone else interested in the Latino/Hispanic presence in the Pittsburgh area. Saturday, December 28, 2013. One thing that I am resolving to do in 2014 is cook more for myself (again, as I had done that in the past and got away from it). I definitely need to eat healthier, and cooking for oneself can help with that. What kind of teacher would I be if I didn't learn how to do some things on my own (and then pass on that knowledge to others). I crumbled the cheeses together, and...

Sabor PGH...: ...Sushi Kim [Off-topic]
http://srtacibulkasavors.blogspot.com/2012/01/sushi-kim-off-topic.html
A blog for my students, and anyone else interested in the Latino/Hispanic presence in the Pittsburgh area. Wednesday, January 11, 2012. Sigh* I know. Another off-topic post. The holidays are killer. There are so many things going on that eating out is so much easier than cooking (on the non-holiday days), but staying within topic (and going someplace new as opposed to somewhere I've already been) is difficult on a whim. Sushi Kim in the Strip District. Where the sushi magic happens at Sushi Kim. Since th...

Sabor PGH...: PGH Taco Truck
http://srtacibulkasavors.blogspot.com/2013/02/pgh-taco-truck.html
A blog for my students, and anyone else interested in the Latino/Hispanic presence in the Pittsburgh area. Friday, February 15, 2013. You'll probably think this post is biased. I don't care. About 10 months ago, when James. The truck, when it first arrived in my driveway from Denver. I have tried so many different tacos from the truck and from the events that we did in the summer from a cart that I couldn't possibly share how I feel about all of them. BUT, I can say this:. From the many comments on Faceb...
