Playa Carrillo Surf Spot Guide. Hotels in Playa Carrillo. El Sueno Tropical in. Playa Carrillo is located south of Playa Samara. It is a beautiful beach and the palm trees offer a lot of shade. There are no buildings close to the beach, the few hotels are located on the other side of the road in the lush green hills behind the beach. The waves are usually not worth it to come here for surfing. The bay is well protected to swell, so often there are no surfable waves at all. Photos of Playa Carrillo.
