Wednesday, September 18, 2013. I talk about Harvest Hosts. A great deal and for good reason. I love the program and have met some wonderful people and learned a great deal. Of the program members that I have been to so far, Donaldson Farms. Was the most welcoming. From the moment I called to obtain permission from their event coordinator, Joan, to the minute that I pulled out the next day, the employees made me feel as if they really wanted me there. Watermelon was sweet and delicious! Sunflowers are pla...

Yarned and Dangerous: March 2015
http://ilikestring.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 23, 2015. Not-so-great health news, and a nice surprise. I had a doctor's appointment on Friday that I didn't think was going to be a big deal - I really only made the appointment to ask her about possible solutions for the week of misery I have every month, if you know what I mean (and I suspect you do.*). So I was surprised when the nurse whipped out needles and vials and prepared to draw loads of blood! I'll be getting the pattern and yarn to make this lovely shawl. Such a nice surprise.

Thursday, May 30, 2013. I finished the stitching on my sailboat panels and I can't wait to share them with you! I love the way they turned out. Right now they are in simple dollar store frames because I just couldn't wait to see them behind glass, but the plan is to properly frame them next week. Let's take a sneak peak, shall we? Tuesday, May 28, 2013. I took the above shot as I was working on the layout of the first panel. I'm still working on the design of the second, but this one is almost done!

Wednesday, June 19, 2013. Dolman sleeves are my new favorite. I'm currently working on perfecting a pattern for a cute cotton tee with Dolman sleeves. I've worked up the first sample and I really like it. It definitely needs a few tweaks, but the look is what I was hoping for! The whole thing takes about 1 yard of a main fabric and about 1/4 a yard of a contrast fabric! How's that for a stash-buster? Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Why was he having a tantrum? Tuesday, June 4, 2013. It's a treasure trove of goo...

Tuesday, September 17, 2013. It's been a busy week here, getting used to new routines. Hopefully there will be some sewing time now that the mayhem is starting to settle down. Happy First Day Of PreSchool, Little Boo! Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Guess who turned three on Saturday? We had a wonderful family party for him and a fantastic day together. He ran around the house yelling, "I'm so happy! So I think it was a success. The rear view is nice with patch pockets. All in all, another successful pair.
