Every day is better with crafts. January 18, 2010. After a long season of christmas crafts, including AT LAST the maresh family christmas letter and mix, it’s time to make something for me! And by something i mean something not totally daunting like the afghan that i started 6 months ago and haven’t touched since, but something nice and easy. since my birthday was coming up, i thought why not make a few cards for myself? wedding “scrapbook” 4 years later | crafternoons

https://crafternoons.wordpress.com/2010/06/08/wedding-scrapbook-4-years-later

Every day is better with crafts. Wedding “scrapbook” 4 years later. June 8, 2010. Four years ago (just after our wedding) I “started” a scrapbook to commemorate the day. Meaning I bought the book, and put one picture in it. I think I may have also tucked a copy of our program in it as well, but it basically has remained in this position ever since, stuffed with the items that I would one day include:. Then yesterday, I was browsing one of my favorite blogs: http:/ www.younghouselove.com. So I immediately...

the return of the crafternoon | crafternoons

https://crafternoons.wordpress.com/2010/09/18/the-return-of-the-crafternoon

Every day is better with crafts. The return of the crafternoon. September 18, 2010. We even sat at lauren and emily’s king of crafts table (once emily updates her blog it will be linked HERE). complete with a sign to commemorate the occassion. and remind us if we thought we may instead take a nap. Oh yea, and we had champagne. And snacks. crafting requires calories. lots of them. I have eaten innumerable red starbursts in the past week. seriously, this is new product development genius. Wrapping it all up.

Wrapping it all up | crafternoons

https://crafternoons.wordpress.com/2009/12/27/wrapping-it-all-up

Every day is better with crafts. Wrapping it all up. December 27, 2009. When you have no idea what to get someone (especially your in-laws who have everything they could want or need), the secret is in a good wrap job. some shiny paper can make even the most boring gift exciting, for a few moments anyway. i’ve found that just a hint of papersource papers can do the trick. The Cutting Floor: Organization

http://bniel.blogspot.com/2011/05/organization.html

Friday, May 27, 2011. I'm a few weeks into this self-employed/working from home/full time designing thing, which is awesome, and I've learned several key things already:. 1 All the moms go to Target between 10-12 on weekdays. Seriously, if you're a mom looking to meet other moms, get yourself to Target in the middle of a weekday. If you're not a mom, like me, just keep pushing your childless cart full of Target brand boxed wine right to the checkout and get out of there. Isn't that fabric bizarre? Fashio...

The Cutting Floor: Op Top by Alexis Winslow

http://bniel.blogspot.com/2011/03/op-top-by-alexis-winslow.html

Thursday, March 24, 2011. Op Top by Alexis Winslow. A few months ago I came across an article about the top 10 up-and-coming knitting designers, and most underwhelmed me except one: Alexis Winslow. This girl has got it going on. Her patterns are intricate without being fussy (unless that's the intention, as with the Miss Myrtle fingerless gloves) and beautifully fresh and modern. Needing a winter hat, I immediately gravitated to the Op Top. I'm a huge fan. March 24, 2011 at 11:33 AM. How long did it take?

The Cutting Floor: August 2010

http://bniel.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, August 22, 2010. Here's the beginning of the front, a semicircle. The back and front pieces are similar, but the back is bigger. Here's the back with the left side complete. I think this is one of the reasons the pattern was labeled "experienced"- it described in detail the steps necessary to complete the right side, then said, "fasten off and do the same thing to the left side, but in reverse." It was a confusing and a bit improvisational. I thought so too. Here's the left sleeve. Not bad, right?

The Cutting Floor: June 2011

http://bniel.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Remember my awesome friends Kate and Ryan? If you don't, check 'em out here. Mr N and I had the pleasure of standing next to them at their wedding this weekend, and it was an incredibly wonderful time! We couldn't be happier for them and hope they're enjoying their honeymoon in the Bahamas. I was given the task of making Kates' rehearsal dinner dress, so I made some quick sketches for her. She chose the dress on the right:. We made some adjustments to the straps and ended up doing...

The Cutting Floor: July 2010

http://bniel.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 13, 2010. Last summer on my 25th birthday, I received one of the most amazing gifts I've ever gotten from Mr. N and his whole family- Grandma V's Singer sewing machine. At first I thought it was just a sewing table, but hiding inside is the most beautiful machine I've ever seen. The details are incredible:. Bias tape, bra straps, hooks and eyes, all neatly packaged and organized. Thanks, by the way, for ignoring my big crazy foot and my own disorganized stash on the right. View my complete ...

The Cutting Floor: April 2010

http://bniel.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Thursday, April 15, 2010. Colonel Mustard in the workroom with the hook. At long last I am proud to present to you the completed Mustard dress! I realize that's not the most flattering name, but I happen to love mustard and am not willing to think of anything more cutesy at this point. But before the big payoff, let me take you back to the beginning. Remember this sleeve? While sleeves by themselves are great, I was looking for a bit more in this dress. I started at the hem and worked my way up. And, fin...

The Cutting Floor: February 2011

http://bniel.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, February 16, 2011. If you're a family member of mine, chances are you (or your children) have received a yarny gift from me at some point. This tradition may have started in the poor-college-student Christmases of yore, but it still continues today! This Christmas was no different- here are some of this season's Christmas crafts. For my baby niece Elliana, this teddy bear. Made with Lion Brand Homespun:. Who quickly made friends with Don Leon. He'd be annoyed, but he's too busy sleeping. Ps Al...

My adventures in crafts and cooking, mostly inspired by others. Monday, July 23, 2012. What seems to be a popular pin on Pinterest (or at least amongst people I follow/follow me) is this memory box. The original idea is the brainchild of this. Blogger. The basic idea is to use a shadow box to display all of your movie and event tickets in a nice way that doesn't consume much space and doesn't look too busy! I know it's super simple, but 1) all you need is. As opposed to the fancy tiered ones on Etsy).

Crafternoon!

Sunday, 14 October 2012. Helen's Bookmarks Mk 2. In 2010, I took part in the Bookmarks. Project which Sarah Bodman at UWE organises (see post here. It is a continuation of the map idea started with 'Lovers' Lanes': again each design features a route plotted between two streets in London, this time representing a great literary partnership. crafternoons | every day is better with crafts

Every day is better with crafts. November 16, 2010. Today’s post has pretty much nothing to do with crafts (yet) but has everything to do with what i am thinking about at the moment. (and also has to do with the fact that i should be doing my homework for class but don’t really know how/am too lazy to figure it out. so why not write a little in my long-neglected blog to continue procrastination? Yet in case i forgot, the real purpose of me being here is to get a job. which is a little weird because i...
