WV Woodshed: October 2012
http://wvwoodshed.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
The tales of a beginning hybrid woodworker from his West Virginia Woodshed. Sunday, October 28, 2012. Hunka Hunka Black Walnut. Came across this large chunk of walnut today and couldn't pass it up. It has air dried in a shed for approximately 5-6 years. It is nearly 16BF and measures 4"x12"x48". At only $30 I paid just under $2/BF, so I think I'll be alright. Do you have an idea on what it should/could be used to create? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Hunka Hunka Black Walnut.

Although he past away in 2000 his birthday is always a time for me to reflect on how luck I was to have him in my life. I am not ready for the big show by any means, but I think feeling as though you've improved from project to project is the mojo that makes us all initiate that next project. From that perspective I am very ...

WV Woodshed: Back to the Grind...
http://wvwoodshed.blogspot.com/2013/05/back-to-grind.html
The tales of a beginning hybrid woodworker from his West Virginia Woodshed. Thursday, May 2, 2013. Back to the Grind. Grind may be slightly exaggerated, its more like shaping and sanding. I am finally getting back to work on the live edge table. I will be using my block plane and rasps to fair the corners of the legs and the curved stretcher. I am looking to eliminate all hard edges and straight lines from the finished piece. Due to my wife's hospitalization I'll have to post pictures at a later time.

The tales of a beginning hybrid woodworker from his West Virginia Woodshed. Saturday, February 18, 2012. Well I knew there would be issues as I started this project, but I was bound and determined they would not be caused by haste. Man oh man, how I hate when I end up eating my words! Leg number two, lets get 'er done! I am ready, excited and confident I will have all the legs finished by the end of the day. I am thinking man this woodworking thing is really getting easier by the minute. Within a...Inser...
