Stitching in the Barn. Oct 15, 2013. Green Pepper F865 - String Bag. It was successful but this past summer I saw this pattern. At a Jo Anns and decided to buy it. It comes in mini to medium and the biggest size was within my 17 X 15 maximum limit. Links to this post. Oct 12, 2013. Pattern review - McCall's M6326 - view C. Was an easy top that came out good. I chose view C and cut it out in a size 20, one size smaller than the pattern flap measurements. Links to this post. Oct 10, 2013. Links to this post.

Quilts, textiles, inspiration. Amy over at Amy’s Creative Side. Is working her wonders again. She is now hosting the 4th Blogger’s Quilt Festival, and as of today you can go to her site and enjoy links to all the wonderful works presented at the different blogs. This time I thought I would show you my latest creation, along with some of the history that led up to this quilt. I loved the look of it, and took quite a few photos. Sadly, I do not know the name of the artist. What I had in mind, was to explor...

Stitching in the Barn: The quilt with two names
http://stitchinginthebarn.blogspot.com/2012/03/super-fast-jelly-roll-quilt-aka-jelly.html
Stitching in the Barn. Mar 17, 2012. The quilt with two names. I've known about this quilt forever. I originally read about it on the Quilting Board. Way before I'd seen the Jelly Roll Race or the 1600 inch quilt. You can find the original post here: http:/ www.quiltingboard.com/tutorials-f10/super-fast-jelly-roll-quilt-t44258.html. Anyways, I used my JoAnn's, 20 strip jelly roll to try this out. I don't have pictures but you can check out t his video on YouTube. It wasn't even the full length. I don...

http://stitchinginthebarn.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Stitching in the Barn. Apr 5, 2011. New to me technique and a BOM block. Lately I've been wanting to sew but I haven't been able to decide what I want to sew. I keep seeing so many awesome projects online and not able to choose one. I did eventually manage to get off the computer and sew up a couple of things, so far, this week. While at the Dallas Quilt Guild Show, me, my MIL and my daughter saw. Cynthia England demonstrating her Picture Piecing technique. This kitty quilt pattern and kit. She's a nice ...

Stitching in the Barn. Feb 12, 2015. Dice Bags: picking fabrics (post #2). I'm making some dice bags for me and my son. You can find the links for the patterns and paper piecing on this post. I really started on this project a while ago up to this point. Then the woven hearts. Took me on a detour. I had no problem picking fabrics for this project and they all came fro my stash! I had the red and black and white for Deadpool. Thanks for stopping by! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Clergy Stoles from G...

Stitching in the Barn: 07/01/2013 - 08/01/2013
http://stitchinginthebarn.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Stitching in the Barn. Jul 10, 2013. So I've been feeling better and once again, because I looked several months before, I looked for a quilt to make from some 5" charms, that I bought from Connecting Threads ages ago, at the end of May. I found what I wanted in Christa Quilts! Charming Chevrons Quilt along. It was simple, modern, used charms, and gave a lot of punch for your effort. I bought some Kona black and worked on it on and off for the whole month of June. The hours it took was a rough estimate&#...

Stitching in the Barn: Dice Bags: X-Men block (post #3)
http://stitchinginthebarn.blogspot.com/2015/02/dice-bags-x-men-block-post-3.html
Stitching in the Barn. Feb 17, 2015. Dice Bags: X-Men block (post #3). I shouldn't have started this project on a day I wasn't feeling the best but I thought it would help spur me on to get something done. I started with the X-men symbol block because it was the simplest. I thought I knew what colors went where without looking at my notes and sewed on the wrong color. Then I had an allergy attack. Ugh I've been miserable but I finally finished it up yesterday! Here it is with the paper ripped out and pre...

Stitching in the Barn: Potholders revisited: hexagon shaped
http://stitchinginthebarn.blogspot.com/2015/01/potholders-revisited-hexagon-shaped.html
Stitching in the Barn. Jan 11, 2015. Potholders revisited: hexagon shaped. So after a couple of failed attempts at rotary cutting hexagons,. I decided to trace around my template onto freezer paper and add 1.25 inches to each side. Templates are a blessing for me. I pressed the top three in half, stacked them in the order I wanted and sewed around the seam allowance. And much bigger than the first hexagon "potholder" I made. Click here for my first post about potholders with links to the tutorials. Drunk...
