https://mycredo.wordpress.com/2011/05/06/in-control-or-controlling
May 6, 2011. In Control….or Controlling? 8212; Donna Yurdin @ 6:21 pm. Think about a leader you have worked for. The one that you would walk through fire for, you respected beyond measure. Now think about how that leader got results. Did this leader delegate detailed instructions and put you in charge of tasks? Or did this leader delegate decision making and authority? Who do you want to work for? And more importantly, which of these leaders do you want to be? Leave a Comment ». Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Everyone does. Yes, that’s right. Everyone does. Putting one foot in front of the other some days takes tremendous effort. Your feet feel like they are stuck in quick sand and you only have minutes to figure out how to survive the predicament. Leave a Comment ». Feed for comments on this post. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

The Blind Spot | My Leadership Credo
https://mycredo.wordpress.com/2011/05/10/theblindspot
May 10, 2011. 8212; Donna Yurdin @ 1:54 pm. How is that some people grow up hearing praise for their abilities and wind up with an ego that wouldn’t fit inside the biggest football stadium and others wind up modest and unpretentious? It would be hard to imagine a great leader without a healthy sense of self worth and confidence. But there is a fine line between confidence and abrasive ego. Once you cross that line, how does someone give you the feedback to cross back? Can it be done? The check is in the ...

July 8, 2010. I had a dog once. 8212; Donna Yurdin @ 5:25 pm. I think of that experience when I am facilitating leadership teams and groups through a change process. I watch as some struggle with adapting and accepting it, especially if the change is forced on them. Sometimes the body language is screaming: Is it worth the effort? I am not suggesting that training a puppy is the same as getting a group of people on the same page about change. But some of the techniques may provide a parallel. Align the t...

May 4, 2011. 8212; Katherine Dierdorff @ 4:30 pm. I just came across a report, The Shriver Report: A Woman’s Nation Changes Everything By Maria Shriver and the Center for American Progress, edited by Heather Boushey and Ann O’Leary October 16, 2009, which reported a statistic that both surprised me and confirmed my growing suspicions. Here are a few excerpts from the. Institutions have failed to catch up with this reality.there is still a long way to go . Up until now, government policymakers largely foc...

Growing New Leaders | My Leadership Credo

January 11, 2011. 8212; Donna Yurdin @ 11:36 pm. A friend gave me an Amaryllis as a gift. Ever watch one grow? Incredible changes happen overnight. It requires only water in a bowl and filtered light. No dirt, no fertilizer, no words of encouragement. Amazing results with little effort. If only growing leaders was this easy. Potential future leaders need basic elements to grow. Nothing fancy really. Just the basics….like the amaryllis. Are you giving your potential future leaders the water, fertilizer an...

Grow Where You Are Planted | My Leadership Credo
https://mycredo.wordpress.com/2010/06/11/grow-where-you-are-planted
June 11, 2010. Grow Where You Are Planted. 8212; Donna Yurdin @ 12:31 pm. Is it not enough to strive? Is it not enough to work hard and enjoy what you do and, hopefully see good come from your efforts? I think we gain happiness and fulfillment if we define what best means for ourselves. We grow where we are planted and we nurture our own root systems and we reach our branches up and unfurl our leaves to the sun. 3 Comments ». 8212; June 11, 2010 @ 6:48 pm. Comment by Brad Minor.
