Two years ago I discovered pink Queen Anne's lace growing on a couple of plants in a field and so I marked them with ribbon to collect the seeds. The House with the Blue Door. Friday, 31 October 2014. After a very busy but fun half term, Halloween has arrived and we have spookified things here, ready for tonight's festivities. The pumpkin has been carved . The ghosts and bats are here . Cobwebs have materialised . And my favourite, the Indian corn has come out. Not very spooky, but I love those coloured kernels. One day I plan to buy some of their Bluebell Scent - it's rather pricey, though, so I may have to wait a bit longer! The books are beautiful, filled with floral illustrations and, best of all, with scented end-papers. Here are some of my favourites. And I've had this lilac perfume bottle for more than 20 years...

We had a splendid vacation with family in Grand Bend (Ontario) spending days at the beach on Lake Huron, fires at night to roast marshmallows and make yummy s'mores. The sunsets were breath taking!
