Critical Error!

By the end of next semester I should have all of the requirements for my AOCs completed and, with any luck, my thesis will be well on its way. . Thursday, October 9, 2008. Critical Error!: August 2008

http://criticalerror-evacuate.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Thursday, August 14, 2008. These are my wonderful, if quirky, roommates. From right to left we have Hannah, me, Dane, and Sarah. Now Hannah and Sarah have shorter hair and Dane and I have been growing ours' out. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark! I have discovered that Europe is inefficient. Normally I would feel bad about making such a blanket statement but I am feeling particularly unforgiving considering the hell that Aalborg University has been putting me through. Critical Error!: New College

http://criticalerror-evacuate.blogspot.com/2008/09/new-college.html

Friday, September 12, 2008. Classes here at New College started about two weeks ago. Between taking a few too many classes and living in rather tight living quarters it has been exhausting. I am taking Advanced German, Contemporary French History, Carolingian Empire, Politics of the EU, Transitions from War to Peace, and American Wars and Peacemaking as well as fencing and Pilates. Critical Error!: October 2008

http://criticalerror-evacuate.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Thursday, October 9, 2008. Midterm week is finally over (for me anyway) and now I can begin Fall break. I had midterms in three of six classes, so it could have been worse. My first midterm was in American Wars and Peacemaking, my least favorite class, and I have to admit that I really hoped to fail the midterm so I would have an excuse to drop the class. Unfortunately, I didn't not. Try hard enough and I'm pretty sure I passed it. The first time I have ever been able to say that with disappointment.

View my complete profile. Friday, August 16, 2013. All I accomplished for the past two days is pumping water out of the hole. Here the pump is off to the left. The green hose is the intake hose and the blue one is the exhaust hose, which is connected to a PVC pipe that goes out to the street. The pump does a good job of pumping most. Of the water out of the hole quite quickly. But unfortunately it can never pump all. Thursday, August 8, 2013. A Hole Full of Water. Looks like I better keep digging. The bi...

We want a small patch of this thirsty St. Augustine grass. Hollie's will be back this week with more sod. It should extend to the right edge of this picture. (Click on the pictures to get much better resolution.). Hollie's built these planters. They will get more plants over time. Sherry put in these plants by herself (above and below.).

View my complete profile. Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Adventures in Home Maintenance. Sherry doesn't like the knobs on her shower. She wanted handles, like the sink has, rather than these ugly round knobs. Seemed like a modest request. We found "universal" handles to her liking at Lowe's and took them home. This didn't seem like a particularly big deal, until I used the shower. As I tried to make the water a bit warmer, I made it completely cold. This can be a big deal when you are in the shower. Today Cian and I visited MOSI, Tampa's Museum of Science and Industry, directly across Fowler Avenue from USF. I parked in a campus parking lot, for which I have a permit, and we took the bridge over Fowler Avenue to MOSI. I have driven under this bridge numerous times, but this was the first time I had ever walked over it. The obligatory dinosaur skeleton, in the lobby. Are we having fun yet? You can almost bel...

Met up with the end of a parade. We followed the parade to the festival grounds. These little girls were the last group in the parade. Our number one priority was the Quilting exhibit, where Sherry had two quilts on display. Both of Sherry's entries got blue ribbons! Then on to the other exhibits.

For example, Sherry and I had breakfast this morning at Mimi's Cafe. No, but something similar. The name just wouldn't come. As soon as I sat down at the computer, I thought of the name: Bob Evans. I offered him a dollar to rake up the leaves in a 20 by 30 area of my back yard. This is the kind of job that most workers, including my regular lawn service guy, don't find attractive. View my complete profile. Monday, January 23, 2012. Yesterday, Sunday January 22, Sherry and I made a trip to Venice. (Venice, Florida) Venice was a favorite cruise destination when we had a sailboat. We just wanted to walk around and see the places we used to go. We parked on Venice Avenue (near the bottom of the picture below) and walked along the avenue. We meant to go to our favorite ice cream shop, The Soda Fountain. The beach was a popular place right at the end of Venice Avenue. We stopped for dri...
