Discover the fun, funky, yet oddly practical side of gift giving. Saturday, January 31, 2009. We have but one Earth and this sweet little Angel reminds us to do all we can to protect her. Made from 5 plastic grocery bags and a few left over beads, Earth Angel stand just barely 4.25" from the hem of her gown to tip of her delicate halo. The little splashes of green on her gown and wings are from the printing on the grocery bags and add a touch of visual texture and interest. Links to this post. I have nev...

Beads 'N Bangles By Kim: January is for Snow and Garnets
http://beadsnbanglesbykim.blogspot.com/2011/01/january-is-for-snow-and-garnets.html
Thursday, January 13, 2011. January is for Snow and Garnets. January has been snowy so far. For some reason my dog Gigi loves to eat snow. She begged to go out on the deck just to eat the snow. I made her wear her sweater which she does not like. When she came back in her legs were caked with snow. What a mess! When she was all finished she begged to come back in. This was a really fun game for her, but not so fun for me. January 13, 2011 at 9:52 AM. Gigi is so precious! January 13, 2011 at 12:40 PM.

Beads 'N Bangles By Kim: New Year's Goals
http://beadsnbanglesbykim.blogspot.com/2011/01/new-years-goals.html
Thursday, January 6, 2011. I'm using the word goals instead of resolutions. Since resolutions just seem to be forgotten and broken. I have been thinking about things I'd like to do better this New Year. Maybe putting it all in writing will help me stick with it. Of course, there's the usual - exercise more, lose weight . So what do I need to do this year to make this a business that truly makes income. 2 Spend more time on new design ideas. 4 Make a list and prioritize projects. I seem to be very sca...

Discover the fun, funky, yet oddly practical side of gift giving. Monday, February 2, 2009. Expanding the Plarn Horizon. In manipulating the plarn to make the basket. I have tried crocheting with both sizes of plarn. The thicker plarn produced a stable structure, much like the cute raffia purses that we see for children around Spring time. The thinner plarn is interesting. I am still experimenting and will be writing a guest blog spot for my friend Glue and Glitter. Links to this post.

Discover the fun, funky, yet oddly practical side of gift giving. Monday, March 10, 2008. Every once a while an artist takes you by surprise. Not so much because of what they do, but how they do it. Lauren Gray's work is ethereal, soft spoken, gentle and timeless. I cannot take my eyes from it. Everytime I enter her Etsy shop, GrayArt. I am enthralled by the beauty of her images. Lauren describes her work as follows:. In 2005 I discovered Pyrography. Pyrography is the art of drawing an image onto woo...

Discover the fun, funky, yet oddly practical side of gift giving. Wednesday, April 30, 2008. My first experiment was to blue copper using ammonia. I got the idea from BeadStyle magazine. I decided to try it on one of my copper byzantine link keychains. I carefully cleaned and polished the keyring to ensure the patina would cover the copper evenly. After two hours, there was quite a bit of blue on the copper rings. As it dried, the blue lightened up to a beautiful rich turquoise color. Links to this post.
