Doily Resurrection? | how do my UFO's grow?
https://onhooksandneedles.wordpress.com/2008/12/16/doily-resurrection
How do my UFO’s grow? Bits of my life and my adventures with thread, hook, yarn and needle. On a visit to Venu’s aunt, I came across a doily draped over an end table. It had broken threads, and stains…but what upset me most was how badly it was crocheted. Badly formed stitches, scores of errors in the crocheting, bad finish… The pattern however looked really promising and I had to bring this one home and make it. This is the original doily that called out to me. And a close up. 13 responses ». December 1...

How do my UFO’s grow? Bits of my life and my adventures with thread, hook, yarn and needle. I have an FO! Sometimes forgetting to pack a pattern sheet along with your ‘on the go’ project does result in good news. Deepti had to appear for one of her MBA entrance exams at Cochin, and we had decided to make it a family trip to visit my aunts, Venu’s cousin and Swapna. We did get to meet Swapna and Sridhar, though the visit was distressingly short. I did get to see her gorgeously crocheted Marquise top. Very ...

How do my UFO’s grow? Bits of my life and my adventures with thread, hook, yarn and needle. I had stopped blogging and my last post is from nearly 3 years ago. I wonder if any one still follows my blog. Those unknown faithful followers and the random visitors who stop by must be wondering, what made me stop and what prompts me to restart now, after such a long gap. 11 responses ». How do my UFO’s grow? Bits of my life and my adventures with thread, hook, yarn and needle. Monthly Archives: December 2008. Random facts about me. I came across this on Samantha’s blog. And really liked it. My Name is Jaishree. Childhood Ambition – i wanted to teach english literature to college students.this was more of a teenage ambition. i don’t remember any childhood ambitions. Fondest memory – another sad thing to realise …don’t have a ‘fondest memory’. First job — teacher. On a visit to Venu’...

How do my UFO’s grow? Bits of my life and my adventures with thread, hook, yarn and needle. Monthly Archives: December 2011. October 2011, my long planned trip to Bhopal. I had planned a 10 day stay to help my mother out during the post-operative phase of her cataract surgery. Though the surgery by itself is not considered a major one, the post operative phase needed her to stay away from hot stoves, so cooking would not be feasible. And hence my planned long stay with them. We entered the waiting room a...

Mama Nettie's Crochet: June 2012
http://mamanettiescrochet.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Lovely Lace Pattern Stitch. I saw a beautiful cardigan on a lady at church on Sunday and thought, I need to try to make a stitch that is similar to that! The fabric of her cardigan was crocheted pentagons which was beautiful and definitely doable, but this is the first pattern that came to me, and I think it's really pretty and worth sharing! Chain multiple of 4 1. Row 1: hdc in 3. Ch from hook, hdc across. Row 6: ch 2, turn, hdc in sc, (ch 4, sk sc, 2 hdc in sc) across. When work...

How do my UFO’s grow? Bits of my life and my adventures with thread, hook, yarn and needle. I came across this list on Lori’s. Site When I checked the BBC site for the Big Read, there was a disclaimer saying that the page was not being updated….the list could be about 4 yrs old .but I see so many nice books on that list.it is going to serve me as a list of “wantareads”. I did not use the list on her blog.I went to Big Read. And got the list that is currently displayed on their page. The Lord of the Rings.

How do my UFO’s grow? Bits of my life and my adventures with thread, hook, yarn and needle. How to line a bag in one easy step. Wanted to know my views on lining bags….my views? 8230;as long as someone else is doing it.GREAT! But catch lazy me lining a bag .with my attention span and impatience with hand sewing i will certainly spoil the bag. But a crocheted bag is not the most practical one to use without a lining….and I do want to show off my crocheted bags…so what do I do? How do I do it? Jaishree tha...

How do my UFO’s grow? Bits of my life and my adventures with thread, hook, yarn and needle. Necessity is the mother of Substitution. I know I have a tendency to desire things which are not within reach but the doilies made in finer thread have really fascinated me.and I wanted to make a few of the delicate beauties for myself. In desperation I started my quest for substitutes. And I came up with this doily using three strands of yellow sewing thread, I could do a lot to improve my tension .but probab...

How do my UFO’s grow? Bits of my life and my adventures with thread, hook, yarn and needle. Monthly Archives: May 2008. Has been pretty prolific for me.I completed a few UFO’s, started and completed quite a number of new projects, got a pile of crochet washed and blocked, started working on an abandoned cross-stitch project, went on a two week trip to Delhi. Not bad at all.the only department where I have been less than sincere has been in updating my blog! Doilies and thread crochet. KNOTS & LOOPS.
