April 02, 2006. Finishing up our trip in New York. On Saturday we joined a group of four women for a Culinary Tour of Little Italy and Soho. We met our tour group at Ferrara's bakery and had some delicious chocolate covered, cream filled, cannelloni. We took a few minutes to walk through a large Chinese Market. There were some very unusual ingredients on display. In Soho, an upscale area of Manhattan, we visited several shops with pricey kitchen gadgets and dishes. This area was rescued from becoming...

December 29, 2005. A Short Hike in the Neighborhood. On our second day in Seattle, Margie and I took the kids to a little playground in an adjacent neighborhood. The playground was situated next to a little lake. The kids enjoyed looking at the ducks and fishing with sticks. We decided to walk around the lake on the path, about a mile and a quarter in length. The kids were intrigued with this tree? What could live in an old hollow tree? Who made that hole in the trunk? Posted by jennifer at 10:57 AM.

Tourists in New York. March 29, 2006. On Tuesday evening I flew into New York, taking in a breathtaking view of the Manhattan skyline. The buildings looked like sparkling giants and seemed close enough to touch from the window of the airplane. Walking through the airport, I was overwhelmed with the diversity of the people around me. So many colors and costumes, so many different cultures represented, so many different languages being spoken. We're not in Oregon anymore! I recognize you, is that Jeremy?

Tourists in New York. April 01, 2006. A trip to New York would not be complete without a visit to Lady Liberty. The weather was beautiful and afforded us wonderful views from the ferry. We did not get off the ferry at the statue, but went straight on to Ellis Island. Upon returning to Manhattan we began another audio tour of the financial district beginning with the bronze bull - both ends. When we finished the audio tour we were just a couple blocks from Ground Zero. This was not on our list of sigh...

March 30, 2006. Tourists in New York. The Natural History Museum and Planetarium were impressive and enormous. Upon buying our tickets the cashier asked, "Where are you from? When we told her Oregon she exclaimed, "Oh you must go get a picture in front of the will-uh-met meteorite! So here I am in front of the Willamette meteorite found in Clackamas, Oregon many, many years ago. We enjoyed this tour so much, we decided to take on the next tour of Rockefeller Center. Again an amazing hour spent tourin...

January 29, 2006. A Day of Rest. For the last month our Sundays have been quite restful. This is partially because the rain has prevented us from doing any outside projects. Jeremy has also been quite tired from work, so he is not pushing to do something. In fact he's taken more Sunday naps in the last month, than in the last year. Maybe, we are just getting older. Whatever the reason, we are enjoying it. Posted by jennifer at 08:59 PM. How is comment approval going? At January 31, 2006 06:33 PM. Fortuna...

September 26, 2005. New Ways to Look at the News. I am taking part in an educational technology cadre for the next two days. I learned about wo interesting sites that deal with world news in a very creative way. I thought others might find them interesting.
