Crooked Megs: Recap part four: getting settled in the ICU
http://crookedmegs.blogspot.com/2009/03/recap-part-four-getting-settled-in-icu.html
Life isn't about the destination- it's about the journey. Recap part four: getting settled in the ICU. Everything from my hospital stay is pretty hazy, especially the. Kels, Matt, mom or anyone else who was there, please feel free to add stories and observations to the comments section about the first time seeing me or talking to me in ICU. I next remember everyone had left except for my sister Wendy. Who was sitting in the recliner by my bed watching TV (pic at left. My nurse on that first night was an ...
Crooked Megs: Bad Blogger Recaps ICU
http://crookedmegs.blogspot.com/2010/02/bad-blogger-recaps-icu.html
Life isn't about the destination- it's about the journey. Bad Blogger Recaps ICU. I’m a bad blogger. I know. Attribute it to pure laziness. My only flaw. :). A couple of weeks ago I met a woman who reminded me why I need to finish this blog. She was my age and about to go in for surgery. She was very scared and had a lot of questions for me. I did, too, once. Standing up never felt so awful. Anyway, my PT wanted me to log roll. I rolled onto my left side [wince] then back to my back [ugh] and a littl...

Life isn't about the destination- it's about the journey. GREAT NEWS – Megan didn’t need the epidural blood patch. I wrote yesterdays update before they stood her up for the day. They also moved her to PCU (progressive care unit) yesterday where she’ll be for the rest of her stay at the hospital. Today will be a busy day as she starts therapy and will be moving around more but overall she’s doing great. January 17, 2009 at 11:51 AM. Gregg Shields, The Commissioner. Crooked Megs: Room 331
http://crookedmegs.blogspot.com/2010/02/room-331.html
Life isn't about the destination- it's about the journey. I have a vague memory of the trip from the Intensive Care Unit to the Progressive Care Unit that Friday. I know they are located just across the hall from each other because of the tour of the hospital. I took before my surgery. It was a short trip to PCU room 331, but I remember feeling nervous. I felt so awful, how was it possible that I wasn’t ICU material anymore? And would still get x-rays every so often. During my first walk, I moved from my...
Crooked Megs: My Journal Entries, or More Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone & Skelaxin, Please!
http://crookedmegs.blogspot.com/2010/05/my-journal-entries.html
Life isn't about the destination- it's about the journey. My Journal Entries, or More Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone and Skelaxin, Please! You don't have to read each word. Just take a moment and glance at it as you scroll from the top to the bottom. I'm sure when my mom gave me the journal. For me to use during recovery, she probably thought I would use it to write about my thoughts and feelings or any events during that time. But, as I’ve mentioned before. 8:30 pm- 2 Dilaudid. 9 pm- 2 stool softners. 6:25 ...

Kim 'Riggle' Franek: Wow...long time, no write.
http://kimriggle.blogspot.com/2010/05/wowlong-time-no-write.html
A day in the life with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Sunday, May 9, 2010. Wowlong time, no write. Since my last post, I haven't really felt like writing. Everything and nothing has been going on. Too much to write about and not enough time to write. Blah. So, here's what's been going on:. I had a CT scan on the 20th of April. Everything went well. I still had to drink the glue-like crap, but this time it was spaced out. Thank goodness! One thing the scan did. Thanks for reading and goodnight. We just returned from...

A day in the life with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Tuesday, January 5, 2010. Holy crap.add another. So I wrote recently about my friend, Tanner, getting a purple ribbon tattoo. And now it's time to add another. Can you believe it? I already wrote about feelings of friends vs. family members getting tattoos. What an unbelievable honor! It means more to me than I can express. Thanks for reading. Goodnight! January 5, 2010 at 11:45 PM. Your blog keeps getting better and better! January 6, 2010 at 11:41 AM. Light th...

A day in the life with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Sunday, October 4, 2009. This will be the most random blog post by me ever. Maybe. I was drugged on some of the previous ones, so. Also coming up is Walk Now for Autism. Autism is my passion and by doing this walk, I feel like it spreads the awareness a bit. I have a team every year. Last year, I hosted a fundraiser at Chick-Fil-A. I'll get that going again and post about it, as well. If you're interested in joining, this is our team link. Now I must go. I h...
Kim 'Riggle' Franek: Well...fancy that. Dexter and I really DO have something in common.

A day in the life with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Saturday, January 16, 2010. Wellfancy that. Dexter and I really DO have something in common. Not so long ago, I wrote an entry about " fun facts. Now, while some of you didn't think my facts were so fun, I still found it very interesting. It consisted of notable cases of Hodgkins. I would like to add to that list. I heard tonight that Michael C. Hall, of Dexter fame, is in remission from Hodgkins. Click here to read about it. Help us raise money (and win pasta)!
Kim 'Riggle' Franek: Side effects
http://kimriggle.blogspot.com/2010/11/side-effects.html
A day in the life with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Wednesday, November 17, 2010. I've left my blog dormant for a couple of months. Much like my cancer. I feel I have nothing of interest to say anymore since my treatments are done. Who wants to hear about another person's life when they're busy living their own? But since you're here. The sad thing is, I even looked up the meaning of both and STILL don't know which one to use! The next walk was in Ft. Worth. I had a whole crew there. It was AWESOME! Okay So I sho...

A day in the life with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Sunday, April 19, 2009. Today is Peanut's birthday. He's our Dachshund and he's 6 years old. The next morning Mom dropped them both off early because they had a Saturday work day. Matt came downstairs and said he wanted to keep him, too. We had gained a puppy and we named him Peanut. So, here's to Peanut and Maggie! They're still as needy and spoiled as the day we got them. :). Happy Birthday, Nutters! April 20, 2009 at 7:55 AM. April 20, 2009 at 7:56 AM.

A day in the life with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Sunday, November 15, 2009. Right Let me apologize for not updating sooner. This seems to be a recurring theme. I finally got my results of my CT scan. They're NEGATIVE! When I went to my appointment, I had a long talk with my doctor about this. She asked me if I worry about it. I said yes, isn't that normal? So to finish. What we did. Hopefully that's it. We did several Light the Night walks. Thanks to everyone who came out to walk with us. I have so...I'm waiti...

http://kimriggle.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
A day in the life with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Thursday, February 4, 2010. I have so many memories I would love to share. But tonight, I'm feeling greedy and I want them for myself. Maybe some day when it doesn't hurt so much, I'll post some of them. In the meantime, here's an entry. About how we got him. I'm writing this from bed.where one little, loveable pup used to lay next to me. I am officially empty inside. Wednesday, February 3, 2010. Maybe a little like Hodgkin's? During the writing of this, the doc...
Kim 'Riggle' Franek: Christmas, family, tattoos, and surprises. What a great combination!
http://kimriggle.blogspot.com/2008/12/christmas-family-tattoos-and-surprises.html
A day in the life with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Sunday, December 28, 2008. Christmas, family, tattoos, and surprises. What a great combination! Here it is Sunday night again and I've neglected to post since last week. So much has happened, too. What a shame. Let me recap the past week for you. Which, I might add, they did and did very well. I was told they came down to get tattoos with us. There really was another reason why, but I'll get to that. So we wrap up Christmas with Dad and head to Randy...Going are...

Life isn't about the destination- it's about the journey. I know, I know. I'm a horrible blogger. At one point, sharing my scoliosis journey was so important to me. It filled every part of my life. Now, there are days where I don't even think about it or scoliosis. It's a stark contrast to where I once was. I'm so normal. PS Since I'm not good about checking this thing, if anyone out there finds this blog and needs to get in touch with me, find me at Facebook.com/crookedmegs. And send me a message. Every...

Sometimes life can be messy. In our home, we live, learn, and grow through it all! The Forked Tongue Devil in Me. October 3, 2016. October 3, 2016. Communicate. Such a common word. So hard to really pull it off sometimes. Lately communication has been awry in our house. We have been communicating well about bulldozing and gravel and houseplans and faucets. We have not been communicating well about laundry and food and sleep and what to watch. Continue reading →. Oh, Woe Is My Floor. September 15, 2016.
