We were married at St Andrew's church Compton Bishop on 22nd December, 1973. Clare's parents were living at 'The Lawn' nearby. The vicar was Revd. Tomsett. We recall that he enjoyed the reception immensely! We will be visiting the church on Sunday in order to relive our fond memories of that day 40 years before. On 16 December 2013.

Our new Rector, the Reverend Judith Jeffery has now joined us. Judith has loved working in school in her previous Parish and she will become a familiar face to you all. Gary and Ruth Orriss will also continue to have great fun taking some services. Families with children at Weare Academy First School can enjoy many events organised by Crook Peak Parish. Friends of Weare Church. Aerial Views of Village. St Gregorys, Weare. The church, dedicated to St Gregory the Great, was built c1480 but there would have been previous buildings on the site, and we have a list of rectors and vicars from 1309. The building was restored in 1846-8 (roof, extra aisle - the Farmers Aisle added and a vestry) and again in 1901 (Chancel arrangements, much stonework and window glass. There are three tiny pieces of early glass (1480-1500) in the side aisle).
