Crosbys Life Paintings: The Sky Was Fun
http://crosbyslifepaintings.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-sky-was-fun.html
Saturday, July 25, 2015. The Sky Was Fun. I painted this picture because I was enjoying the cloud formations. I put the rooftop in for an anchor. I recently took this class on Craftsy that gave me some new techniques with painting the sky. Craftsy is a great place to take classes online I highly recommend it. Crosbys Life Paintings: Glads
http://crosbyslifepaintings.blogspot.com/2015/07/glads.html
Tuesday, July 21, 2015. This bunch of flowers was fun to paint. I worked with lots of water because I wanted soft edges. After it dried I sharpened some the edges to add a bit more variety. Monday, August 31, 2015. I started this image on site and added pastel later. I liked the reflections in the water and of course the plant life above it. I worked on a 5 by 7 piece of Uart paper and a variety of pastels. A Commerce, Texas landscape. I think this is highway 178. I used St Armand canal paper and a variety of pastels. Crosbys Life Paintings: June 2015
http://crosbyslifepaintings.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 28, 2015. I did the underlying ink sketch one afternoon downtown. I was attracted to the shadow play on an alley wall. I later added watercolor. Initially I considered it finished and put it away. I came across it this week and added pastel. I think its finished now. Friday, June 26, 2015. Thursday, June 25, 2015. Sunday, June 21, 2015. Crosbys Life Paintings: January 2015
http://crosbyslifepaintings.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 30, 2015. We got to the park at about 3 in the afternoon and the light was grey and a little flat. Pam asked if I could get anything out of the light. My response was that I could work in any light.as long as I have some shadows I enjoyed the light in the background because it challenged me to see the various greys in the atmosphere. Crosbys Life Paintings: Family History
http://crosbyslifepaintings.blogspot.com/2015/07/family-history.html
Monday, July 27, 2015. Pam had lots of family heirlooms in her house when I was last there. These items made for great still life subjects. I don't know the story behind these items but I know that they have some history in the Ziehe family. Love the crop, too. Nice one! July 28, 2015 at 7:49 AM. July 30, 2015 at 4:19 PM. Crosbys Life Paintings: July 2015
http://crosbyslifepaintings.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 30, 2015. I have painted this view many times and it still inspires me. The Daniel Smith palette is what I used and I worked on a quarter sheet of Sanders Waterford paper. The pigment fell just right onto the surface because I worked on wet paper that I let dry in between layers. I liked the island and the hills in the background. Monday, July 27, 2015. Crosbys Life Paintings: October 2014
http://crosbyslifepaintings.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 30, 2014. I painted this watercolor at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. Usually I will shoot photos for painting later. On this visit I painted and didn't get too far into the gardens before I found this grouping of flowers. A beekeeper from New Jersey walked by and told me to include some bees. They didn't make it in to the painting. Labels: Available contact me if interested. Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden. Monday, October 27, 2014. One Side Of The Creek. I took the photo that...
