The life of a peace corps volunteer in senegal. Exercising the young minds of Senegal. My room suddenly feels like some sort of progressive Koranic school. Two talibe kids are sitting on my floor coloring, Mozart fills the air and I sit in a chair sipping coffee. I just handed them each a ripped out coloring book page and they stared at me like I was stupid. Their looks seemed to say, "This already has a drawing on it! Plea to the wallets of America. I met Jesus today while I was sitting on the curb outs...

They were not tears of cultural frustration. They were not tears of 'why can't you speak english! They were not tears of 'please don't make me eat rice and fish again'. life ndank ndank: October 2008
http://nod83.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
The life of a peace corps volunteer in senegal. This is all you get. Training I put together was successful. Host father passed away suddenly (this was very difficult). Intense riots in my neighborhood (destroyed buildings, tire burnings, fires, tear gas, beatings, rock throwing, theft, car running over people). Staying busy with work and loving it. That's the gist of it. I promise that once I can comprehensibly order my thoughts on paper you all will get details. I miss and love you all.
