Tuesday, December 21, 2010. Point to the Light at Home for the Holidays. On Sunday, I mentioned a sermon that I found very helpful from Charles Spurgeon about going home for the holidays and how to strategically seek to share the gospel. You can check it out on C.J. Mahaney's blog. I hope that you will find it helpful as well and that God will use you to point to Christ, the true light, this holiday season. Friday, December 17, 2010. Let Us Read in 2011. And then you tried again and then failed again?

Tuesday, May 19, 2009. Death is Not Dying. I mentioned during the sermon from John 11 on Sunday a link that I would encourage everyone to check out. Rachel Barkley is a wife and mother who lives in Vancouver, BC and is dying of cancer. In this video,. She speaks about life, her impending death and the gospel that gives her hope as she faces death. I highly recommend taking the time to watch the video. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Wednesday, August 26, 2009. Applying the Gospel to the Hearts of Parents and Children. What does it look like for a parent to apply to the gospel to our own heart in relationship to our parenting? How in the world do we practically apply the gospel as we discipline our children. Here are some helpful audio clips from C.J. Mahaney on this topic:. Gospel-centered Parenting and Young Children. The Gospel and Parental Sin. The Gospel and Discipline. Teaching Children to Love the Church. Here is a link. Apply...

everything that shines: August 2015

http://everythingthatshines.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

In March, we celebrated our 10th anniversary! So much has happened since we got married 10 years ago, yet it also still feels like it just happened. I can't believe it's been 10 years. We joked about remembering having a conversation on our honeymoon about going back to Maui for our 10th anniversary. Ha. Well with 2 kids plus another on the way, a mortgage, and student loans there is no way that's happening anytime soon! I'm sure someday we will vacation just the two of us again. I just love my sweet boy!

Caroline loves bugs, animals, and rocks. she has no fear! Checking out a june bug on the front porch. Other blogs we read.

everything that shines: boy or girl??

http://everythingthatshines.blogspot.com/2015/08/boy-or-girl.html

My mom and sister did a great job of coming up with some cute decorations for the gender reveal party. my family and john's family came back over to our house after quinn's birthday party for a late lunch and celebration of baby #3. The votes are in! Surprisingly, most people guessed girl. i actually thought it was a girl, which is why i guessed boy. i've been wrong every time with what i thought we were having, so i thought i would outsmart myself this time. :). We look forward to the cinco de mayo tournament every year. we get to catch up with friends from college that we really only see once a year and the guys get to pretend they are still as "in shape" as they were in college :). it's also really fun to have all of the kids on the sidelines playing together and watching their daddies play the game they love. Doing a little reading on the way down to san antonio. Playing with daddy between games on saturday morning. Playing soccer with grayson on the sidelines.

Fun times with friends. In november, we had a great week with tyson, kelly, asher, and norah when they came to visit from boston. unfortunately, my morning sickness (aka all day sickness) hit hard that week so i wasn't feeling great. but we had so much fun just spending time with our friends. We started the trip with a picnic at this awesome playground! Elliott and norah got the short end of the stick on this one. The kids enjoyed going to the stockyards to see the longhorns and watch the shriner's parade.

We play tball in the backyard! We may need to work on her stance. Perfect weather for an indoor picnic. C loves to sit on the counter and do her makeup with mommy! This is how we play in Texas in July. Sometimes it's just too hot to play outside. We've been to this awesome indoor playground a few times, but since John was off for summer break we got to take him with us this time! Snuggles with daddy ❤️. Playtime at the park. Pizza and movie night - despicable me! Look at those blonde curls! Quinn did a g...

First day of pre-k. Q started a new school for pre-k this year. Sweet, handsome boy on his first day at his new school:. He just walked right in, sat at his desk, and started working. He just looks so big! After we picked him up, these two cuties had some snuggle time on the couch. I think it's safe to say they missed each other! See that sweet blankie in the background of caroline's 6 month pictures? Her aunt katie made it for her before she was born. It was so beautiful.back then. Fun times with baby E.

Christmas day was pretty laid-back this year. i was 12 weeks pregnant and still feeling pretty sick.i think i took 3 naps that day! And unfortunately i didn't take many pictures of the day. my parents and kat, earl, and elliott came over in the morning. in the afternoon, i napped while the kids played with their toys and then we went for a walk. it was a fun day, but i'm looking forward to next christmas when i'll be feeling better and we'll be celebrating our first christmas as a family of 5!
