A blurred glance at what I'm up to. October 18, 2010. Thought I'd mention that the Adventure Cycling touring photo exhibit entitled "Bicycle Eclectic" is scheduled to come to Spokane. It will be at the Chase Gallery in City Hall, opening Nov. 5, and will be on display until sometime in December. Hopefully this post will remind me to get there and see it. Links to this post. October 7, 2010. Our garage recently got awesomer. Artsy tiltshift generator version. Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone.

A blurred glance at what I'm up to. October 28, 2011. During the last week of September and the first week of Octovber we made the long journey to South Africa. My parents are on a mission there so we went to visit and see some of the country. It was the furthest from home any of us had ever been and was truly an adventure and educational experience. Here are photos:. Ansel standing in Regina Mundi, Soweto- the church central to the 1976 protests. Nelson Mandela's house/museum in Soweto, Johannesburg.

A blurred glance at what I'm up to. January 4, 2011. 3 Days of Snow. I worked the night shift over the week between Christmas and New Years, finally finishing the morning of January 2nd. It was a hard week. I did not sleep well knowing there were piles of light new snow and sunshine outside that everyone else was enjoying while I was banished to the darkness of the long December night. But Sunday afternoon, after finishing a deserved post work nap, there was still some blue sky left. Then today we mixed ...

A blurred glance at what I'm up to. August 10, 2011. I teamed up with a friend from work and two of his friends who are avid cyclists. I was worried I wouldn't be able to keep up as they both had pretty good riding resumes and I had a little trouble with cramping up when I pre rode the second half of the course the week before in the heat of a summer afternoon. We made it to the Fish Lake trailhead where Joe had his final dilemma- ride to his home in Cheney and get to his sick bed sooner, or finish what ...

A blurred glance at what I'm up to. December 25, 2011. Early Winter So Far. Vanessa and I skinned up Mt. Spokane twice. Once the week before Thanksgiving when it was cold, snowing, and powdery. And once in early December when high pressure was sitting on top of us for weeks. Inversion provided blue bird conditions (although crap snow) on the mountain with freezing fog in town. Vanessa has made me a fan of "jumping" photos. Humor us. Spokane trails always have car wrecks. Emmy turned 12. I feel old. The n...

A blurred glance at what I'm up to. March 2, 2011. I finally got out into the backcountry with some friends last week. The weather was great and the snow was nearly perfect. A couple of us spent the night at a little cabin and skied the next day as well. Lunch and map break. Snow Peak from the shelter. The south end of the ridge. Getting beta on the east side. On the trail to the peak. Wind load on the eastern slope. Looking north from the top. Another look to the west. Links to this post.

A blurred glance at what I'm up to. March 5, 2012. Trip ideas for this Spring/Summer/Fall. I've compiled a list of ideas for family trips as well as solo or group adventures over the past few years. Many have actually happened and the list is getting short, so I've been in need of a new crop of ideas. For this year I've come up with the list below and thought I'd share. 1 Mt Rainier climb. Second attempt as last Summer the weather kept us from going beyond Camp Muir. 3 Antoine Peak Conservation Area.

A blurred glance at what I'm up to. November 13, 2010. Bringing in Winter on Mica Peak. Harwood and I decided to finally make it to the top of Mica Peak, regardless of weather. I'm not sure if it was a bike ride or a hike. Either way, I'm calling it epic. The route as tracked by the GPS that got us there and back:. We both embraced the cold and wet, deciding that the adventure was much better than being warm, dry, and bored at home. Going up was the easy part. Looking all of my 38 years in this one.

Business, Psychology, and Personal Development. Hi, I’m Curtis Yungen, Civil Engineer and licensed Real Estate Agent. Photo courtesy of Adonis Photography. I write about business, psychology, and personal development. Most of what I write ties into what I’ve been studying over the past few years about how we think, behave, and why we do the things we do. These articles are inspired either by books I’ve read or thoughts and ideas I encounter in my day-to-day life. I’m definitely not an expert on lif...
