Sunday, September 9th, 2012. To round up my posts on the Midwest/MN, something bizarre happened last year. Minnesota got voted the most hipster state. In the US. Archive for September, 2012. Monday, September 24th, 2012. This is a follow up to my fried green potatoes. Morrison’s potato crunchies took some effort to get — the first trip to the store, they were sold out. First Morrison’s trip: no potato crunchies. However my second attempt succeeded. I am pleased to report they are indeed very close to American tater tots, and not at all like croquettes, which are made of fine mash. Lean ground beef (250g). One of the most recent articles I have read (from uSwitch) berated the rumoured removal of the headphone socket from the next rumoured iPhone. Or something amazing that has never been tried before? I see a lot of people walking around with the white Apple headphones, mostly talking, but sometimes listening to music. I suspect tha...

Desperately Seeking Root Beer: July 2010
http://seekingrb.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 14, 2010. On her first day on the job, a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines received a word of caution from another member of the flight crew, "The passengers are generally pretty nice, just watch out for the Californians.". Being from California herself, the new flight attendant asked, "What do you mean? What's wrong with the Californians? More than one ice cube. Those are perfectly reasonable lines of thinking to me. A person that repeatedly gets annoyed by too much ice or crap...

Desperately Seeking Root Beer: February 2010
http://seekingrb.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

In most places around the world that I've paid attention to such things, pedestrians are shown on signs as gender-neutral walking figures (although in Berlin you sometimes get the guy with the jaunty hat. Ahh, here are the legs. And all this time I thought Gotham was based on New York City.
