Saturday, July 31, 2010. Folsom Lake Rhino Loop. Ride Stats from my Garmin:. 697 miles in 5 hours ride time. 7,783 feet of climbing (We cut out Folsom Crossing Bridge, started the ride with Steve Ward's group up to Salmon Falls Road). Avg speed (15.3). I came in behind Jeff at 19:24. We made our way through Rhino Estates, a rolling road with a few short climbs to get us onto the road that winds down to Rattlesnake Bar road. Picture at right, Water stop at the end of Rattlesnake Bar road. We rolled out on...

Cycle Folsom Performance Group Blog: April 2010

http://cyclefolsomperformance.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Sunday, April 18, 2010. Chili Hill Ride Inspired the Competitive Spirit. Written by Phil Blay]. You would have loved this route. 51 miles with 3,350 feet of climbing. The turn onto Shirland Tract was a great alternative to riding straight up Auburn Folsom. Hardly a car on the road. Jerami was first over the top and I was 3rd or 4th. I passed a few guys when the rollers started. We regrouped at the bottom and rode over to Ridge Road together. The pack again blew apart with Jerami and Kurt battling to ...

Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Fast Foxes and Hungry Hounds. Written by Phil Blay] It was billed as a "Fox and Hound Ride." The Peloton Group starts about 20 minutes earlier than the Perormance Group, with the latter hunting them down like hounds after foxes. The morning started out strange.Met up with Gary at Karen's 8:12am and no one else was there to support the Performance group in the chase for the Foxes! Until Jeff M. came out to join us. Thanks Jeff! We ramped the pace up on Irish Hill road ...I start...

Cycle Folsom Club Blog. Ruminations from Cycle Folsom's leadership and members. Discovery Park: Flat City! By Kevin Harris] The Performance and Peloton Groups rode together today out to Discovery Park and back for a Long Slow Distance ride. But it didn’t end up that way! Just as we got to the outer edge of Discovery Park, the first group was coming the other way. They decided to turn around and return with us back to the water stop at Discovery Park for a regroup. We were pleasantly surprised to see Kirk...

Cycle Folsom Peloton Group Blog: February 2010

http://cyclefolsompeloton.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Goal Rides and Events. Sunday, February 28, 2010. Three Groups Become One for Ride to Discovery— for a while anyway! For today's ride, Cycle Folsom's Peloton Group, Performance Group, and even a couple riders from the Endurance Group met at Karen's Bakery at 8am for a ride to Discovery Park in Sacramento. I never got an accurate count, but I think we had between 17 to 20 riders at the start. It was a beautiful day, just a bit cold when we started, but manageable. A curse. While it's nice to benefit f...

Cycle Folsom

Saturday, April 9, 2011. Spring South Canal Time Trial. A great group of Cycle Folsom newbies and old dogs showed up to challenge themselves on the 10 mile South Canal TT. The Spring Cycle Folsom time trial. Is not meant as a contest with your peers, but a contest with yourself. Many cycling coaches and trainers recognize the value of a standard 10 mile TT. Others had their game faces on ready to test themselves and set a fitness benchmark to gauge future progress. Should be in July. My Garmin broke a fe...

So many titles to choose from for this post….Tour de Dope, T-plosion, Stay Awake, Barlowho? Transition Delight, Part 4: Albi, Pass the Mayo, Highes and Lowes, Ups and Downs, Rise and Fall. So much has happened since the last post. Let me try to wrap up some thoughts quickly. Go Barloworld…and lets see another stage win before Paris. Boonen still wins the Green though. Vino only wins if he can pull of a super break away in one of the mountain stages. Remember the last guy that did that? In all seriousness...
