Cycling to the East. Friday, July 9, 2010. Czech Republic has great roads and the landscape is beautiful. Endless hills, up and down and up and down all day. Quite tiring, but nice cycling. Cycling to the East. Monday, July 19, 2010. Almost at the border. I am about 40 to 50km before the Russian border. Have to leave the internet cafe. Time is up. I did only 100km yesterday, hope to catch up a few kilometres today. But this will only be possible if they let me pass the border. Hopefully no troubles because I am travelling by bike, not by car. Donnerstag, 29. Juli 2010. Zur Abwechslung gibt es jetzt statt Ausdauersport Ausdauerbusfahren. Ich sitze in einem Bus von Moskau nach Charkov. Dachte erst dass es jetzt richtig stressig würde, als ich von einem zum anderen Bahnhof in Moskau geschickt werden sollte. Aber mir wurde schon wieder mal total freundlich geholfen und ein Alternativplan ersonnen. Dem Himmel (Storch? Sei Dank. Das wäre schrecklich geworden oder teuer. Donnerstag, 22. Juli 2010. Endspurt in der Ebene. Bergauf geht es schon lange nur noch langsam. Ganz seltsames Gefühl ist das. Etwa so als hätte man sich fürchterlich eingeklemmt und gerade lässt der Schmerz nach. Dass das aus Trainingsgesichtspunkten alles nicht sinnvoll ist, ist schon klar. Mein Fahrrad. Noch im Originalzustand. Der Gepäckträger ist normalerweise natürlich nicht dran. Fehlt noch ein Teil um ihn zu befestigen. Das wird noch gebaut. Dann gibts noch Triathlon-Hörnchen an den Lenker, Gepäcktaschen, eine Ortlieb-Rolle, eine wassserdichte Kartentasche und das wars dann auch schon. Mehr soll nicht mit. Freitag, 23. Juli 2010. Morgen früh starte ich in die letzte Runde. Bis 13.15Uhr deutscher Zeit muss ich 78km hinter mich gebracht haben. Eben habe ich nochmal die Karte studiert und dann beschlossen direkt hoch nach Nishny Novgorod zu fahren. Könnte schlechtere Straßen mit sich bringen, aber ab Mittag spielt die Zeit eine geringere Rolle. Donnerstag, 24. Juni 2010. Noch eine Woche bis es losgeht. Nicht mehr wirklich lang. Es fehlt noch das eine oder andere an Ausrüstung. Zum Beispiel mein neues Zelt, Nr. 3 in meiner Zeltsammlung. Ein 1-Mann-1-Wand-1kg-Zelt. Ein Tarptent. Weil ich die Krabbeltierchen lieber doch nicht in meinem Schlafsack haben will. Welchen meiner vier Schlafsäcke ich nehmen soll ist nicht schwer zu entscheiden - natürlich den leichtesten. Daune, 680g. Downmat oder Thermarest? 3000km mit dem Rennrad in 3 Wochen.
