Southern Perspectives: December 2008

Monday, December 29, 2008. As 2008 draws to a close, we rejoice in the greatest blessing God has given our family this year. On Tuesday, December 23rd, at 1:30a we welcomed Elias Andrew. Into this world. It was definitely a different experience for us since Josiah and Natalia were born in the US, but the Lord was gracious and gave Kolette strength for several unforeseen discomforts. We left the hospital on Christmas Eve and enjoyed a subdued celebration on Christmas Day. God is good! The Flincks in Chile.

Southern Perspectives: July 2009
http://www.southernperspectives.org/2009_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 31, 2009. The kids enjoyed their time in the US during the month of July. They especially enjoyed their time with their cousins. In this photo, Elias is hanging out with his cousin Evelyn. Kolette, of course, enjoyed spending time with her family. Though we enjoyed a little bit of Summer in the Northern Hemisphere, it was hard coming back to Winter and a very cold house. It's been a while. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Southern Perspectives: May 2014

Saturday, May 10, 2014. I've been thinking recently about the experience of serving cross-culturally- it's a unique blend of privileges and challenges. If you asked me right now what some of those privileges are, I'm bound to answer with what has been on my mind lately. Homes, learning our way around borrowed. Kitchens, driving borrowed. Vehicles, playing borrowed. Guitars, and even occasionally wearing borrowed. Every beast of the forest is mine,. The cattle on a thousand hills. Nothing feels completely...

Saturday, May 21, 2011. Our local newspaper recently printed this interview with Claudia. I know many of you can't read Spanish, but to summarize, the newspaper editors had no scruples in allowing her to clearly reference her local church and her faith in God. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Friday, April 17, 2009. We took advantage of the kids' five days off school last week and travelled to visit our co-workers, the Gibbons, in Chivilcoy, Argentina. It was a welcomed change of pace for the whole family. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). To whom much has been given. View my complete profile. The Gibbons in Argentina. The Daglios in Argentina. Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Less Bang for Your Buck. Just as we suspected, the dollar hasn't been trading this low against the Uruguayan peso in nearly a decade. The Uruguay Daily News. Reports: "Yesterday the dollar traded at its lowest rate since July 2002. Interbank rates were averaging $19.039 pesos, a decrease of 5.25% YTD.". Time to start going over the monthly expenses again! Saturday, February 18, 2012. Family Photo (Rough Draft). Last week we tried taking a tripod to one of our favorite local parks and taking a family photo. As you can (kind of) see from the picture, we weren't very successful. The resolution was way too low! Next week, while we are at our fellowship's family camp, we hope to be able to get a real picture with the help of a real photographer. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). To whom much has been given.
