Some friends have told me they enjoyed it with sushi, and that it’s a really good base for white wine sangria – especially if you add some apple! What else can I say? I have always loved this dép wine. 4/5 $12.99 9.5%. Next post →. Wine cheers the sad, revives the old, inspires the young, makes weariness forget his toil - Lord Byron #winequotes.

A guide to wine, for the broke and thirsty Montreal student. Monthly Archives: July 2014. Wine Review: NV, GreyStonePark, Bin 87, Australia, Red. July 22, 2014. This red wine has a beautiful, elegant, dark, purply-red hue to it. It is slightly syrupy in texture with a long finish and full body. It smells like black pepper, dried prunes, nutmeg, cloves, black currants, and freshly-chopped wood. I enjoyed this wine. I found it to be balanced, intriguing, and powerful but not overwhelming. A guide to wine, for the broke and thirsty Montreal student. July 11, 2014. Wine Review: NV, Australian Ridge, Bin 29, White. This is a great golden-yellow dep wine! It’s primarily composed of chardonnay. It tastes like summer: apricots, peaches, golden plums, lemon, grapefruit, candied almonds, and a little bit of butter. Well-balanced with a slight sourness and hint of oak. Beautiful colour; medium viscosity. Good value. 3.5/5 $12.99 12.5%. Next post →. I cook with #wine. Bottled Wine 3 years ago.

A guide to wine, for the broke and thirsty Montreal student. Monthly Archives: March 2013. Wine Romanticization and “The New Bottled Wine”. March 26, 2013. A new trend has been storming the wine industry this year: the entry of the portable, durable, individually packaged servings of wine. Think: tetra pack of wine. Then I realized: ME! How many times have I gone to a concert or game and wanted to be drinking wine instead of beer? But how weird would that be? Has been a long standing, common, household t...

Unfortunately, I have to put a hold on reviewing Montreal dep wines until I’m back in the province, so I will be reviewing NSLC wines for the month of August. I have numerous blog drafts that I’ve been meaning to review and publish, but haven’t had the patience until this week. I always write my own comments on the notes and aromas of a wine.

A guide to wine, for the broke and thirsty Montreal student. Monthly Archives: February 2014. Wine Review: NV Aufkellereien, Germany, Rosé. February 6, 2014. I enjoyed this wine. It’s flavourful, and has a great balance of sweetness and acidity. Easily drank the entire bottle. At the time of drinking, I felt too lazy to write extensive tasting notes but strawberry, cherry, honey, and apple aromas made this wine smell delicious! 3/5 $11.99 10%. HISTORY | whiningaboutwine
https://whiningaboutwine.wordpress.com/how-it-all-started
A guide to wine, for the broke and thirsty Montreal student. I wrote things like:. Was I hung over the morning after? How cheap was it? Was it sweet enough? Did it stain my teeth? Did it make a good sangria? Was mostly written on notebooks, scraps of paper, or napkins, and after about two years of doing this, I had accumulated a small book of notes about wines from the nearest deps. Buying dep wine certainly isn’t an art, but it helps if you have an idea of what to look for, and what to avoid. Over the p...

A guide to wine, for the broke and thirsty Montreal student. February 6, 2014. Wine Review: NV Christophe Dalbray, White. It’s medium bodied, with a really short and crisp finish. It’s really not. But it’s not overly pleasing to drink. It’s got some acidity to it, so it’s definitely the type of wine you can pair with some greasier, creamier, fattier foods. Cheese in particular. I drank it without food and it was fine. 2/5 $12.99 11%. Next post →. I cook with #wine. Portable, individual sized, #wine.
