Sábado, 7 de agosto de 2010. Bueno, el fin de semana pasado nos trasladamos al que será nuestro apartamento durante el próximo año, por lo menos. Nos decidimos definitivamente por Santa Monica, porque como comenté en mi anterior post, es la zona que nos ha parecido más "family friendly" y mejor comunicada con UCLA. One of Spaniards favorites appetizers! Makes 25 to 30 croquetas. 1 small roasted chicken. 4 spoonfuls of olive oil. 400 ml. of milk. 80 gr of flour. Salt, black pepper and nutmeg. 2 or 3 eggs. Light olive or canola oil. Add cooked or serrano ham to the chicken or cook diced pancetta with the onion, to intensify the flavour. 2 glasses of milk (around 1/2 l). The skin of a small lemon. 6-7 tbs of white granulated sugar. For the caramel: sugar (enough to cover the bottom of the mold up to 1/2cm deep) and water. 1 large flan mold or large nonstick loaf pan or 5-6 individual molds or ramekins. 1 Simmer the milk with the lemon skin and the cinnamon sticks. After one day exploration we decided to focus on Santa Monica, it has a nice environment, nice houses, near the beach and is family friendly, with good schools, and also has a very good bus network, cheap, and it takes you to UCLA in 20 min. Després d'un viatge amb avió impressionant, els nens només van dormir una hora, i quan es van despertar quedaven 8 hores i mitja per arribar, ja us ho podeu imaginar, una experiència religiosa, vam arribar a l'hotel cap a les 4 de la tarda, vam anar a dormir i no ens vam despertar fins el dia següent. This cake is perfect for afternoon tea or as a dessert served with clotted cream or vanilla ice cream. 2 golden apples, peeled and with the heart off. 150 gr caster/white sugar. 175 gr white unbleached flour or self-rising flour. 1 tsp baking powder. 1 tbsp milk or apple juice.
