http://tylersilver.blogspot.com/2009/09/week-2-update-sunday-to-shabbos.html
Week 2 Update (Sunday to Shabbos). I realize that I'm going to have to speed up my posting in order to catch up to the present, so I thought I'd give a large update all at once recapping Week 2, the first full week of Nativ, in one post. Sunday morning rolled around, and we quickly jumped out of bed for T'filot to begin our first official day of classes. I was headed off to the Conservative Yeshiva for my first day of official Gemara, Torah, and Ulpan learning. My class schedule is as follows:. That I br...

T-Pain Takes On The High Holidays: YK Edition. After 3 days of hiking on my desert survival trip, I am safe at home in Jerusalem, and am writing to finish my High Holidays post with the Yom Kippur Edition. My Yom Kippur experience started on Thursday, September 24 as the Nativers traveled down to Machane Yehuda. Market) to participate in the wild pagan ritual known as Kaparot. The scene was set before the ritual even started. After walking the 15 minutes to the shuk. Kosherly kill) the chickens. Not ...

T-Pain Takes On The Holy Land: Welcome to Israel
http://tylersilver.blogspot.com/2009/09/welcome-to-israel.html
September 14th, 1:00 AM - T-Pain Takes On The Holy Land. Is born. Throughout the course of the year, I will be updating my blog on a regular basis to recount and depict my experiences for my family and friends to give them an up close and personal view of my life abroad, Israel's culture, and above all Israeli food. Day 1 - September 1/2. One thing they don't tell you is how much nicer Beit Nativ is than the silly "Chavat Ha'Noar Ha'Tzioni" that they make you stay at on Ramah Seminar. Don't get me wr...

Seth's Israel Blog: Israel Experience Week!
http://sethdlerman.blogspot.com/2010/01/hey-everyone-long-time-no-update-again.html
Thursday, January 14, 2010. Long time, no update! I apologize for my long delay, but I believe that I have a pretty good excuse for why I’ve been so busy that I haven’t been able to blog. I’ll start where we left off. Ashley came to Israel! I had such a great time hanging out with her. Some highlights of the trip included her coming out with my friends and I, spending Shabbat at Shira Hadasha, and hanging out, just relaxing! It was so fun to see so many people that I knew from home all at the same time!

Life has been really busy with schoolwork, as finals quickly approach! In fact, I had my first final yesterday! Anyways, back to the previous week. On Friday December 11. No longer than 2 minutes after arri...

Wednesday, February 24, 2010. I know that I haven’t written in a while, so I am going to update you only on my happenings since coming home from Italy. The week that I came home (Beit Nativ), we had an all-Nativ week, which was called “Israel Today Seminar”. This weeklong seminar focused on many different current event issues and areas of modern day Israel. I thought the panel discussion was actually really informative and fun! On Wednesday, February 10. So, im going to go now! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Thursday, September 24, 2009. My New Favorite Jewish Custom. Judaism is full of different types of customs and traditions. I have experienced many of them, but none like the one I did today! I went with a HUGE group (about 50 people) to the shuk (marketplace) to go do Kaparot. It is when you take a chicken, grab it by it’s wing’s and swing it over your head. Each chicken costs 50 Sheckles, and it all goes to charity. It was truly a bizarre, and fun way to prepare for Yom Kippor. Here are some pictures!

T-Pain Takes On The High Holidays: RH Edition. It's been a while since I've posted, and I know that you guys are getting restless. I am truly sorry, but with all of the Chagim.
