DavidJames - Sculpts

April 15, 2014. Well it was only a matter of time. but I finally went and built myself a full size TARDIS. This one is based off the original prop from 1963 (there have been lots of variations over the years), and stands at a whopping 9 feet tall. This was easily the biggest and most expensive project I've ever done, and also at times the hardest and most frustrating. But ultimately it was all worth it and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. And here's a couple pics of it all lit up at night:. Here'...

DavidJames - Sculpts: Jim Lee Wonder Woman WIP

http://davidjamesart.blogspot.com/2012/07/jim-lee-wonder-woman-wip.html

July 14, 2012. Jim Lee Wonder Woman WIP. This is something I started, but I'm not sure if I'm gonna finish. It's supposed to be Wonder Woman in her "New 52" costume (which I really prefer over the old one). Labels: Works in Progress. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). DavidJames - Sculpts: R2-D2 model kit

http://davidjamesart.blogspot.com/2013/05/r2-d2-model-kit.html

May 24, 2013. Here's an old 1977 MPC kit of Artoo I finally finished. The kit wasn't all that accurate so I had to make a ton. Of improvements first (redoing the head, making the legs thicker, adding more accurate shoulders, etc), and then I weathered it to match his appearance in the first movie. Kinda cool. So I decided to add them. I also bent the legs and feet inward a bit like in the first movie, because it just seemed to give him a bit more character. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

DavidJames - Sculpts: Ballerina for mom

http://davidjamesart.blogspot.com/2012/12/ballerina-for-mom.html

December 24, 2012. Here's another thing I never thought I would sculpt in a million years. It's a ballerina I made for my mom as a Christmas present. It was very last minute and thrown together in only a couple weeks, so there are definitely some things that could be improved (and the pics aren't really the best either). Gary's Miniature Sculpting: Recent relief sculpture

http://garyminsculpt.blogspot.com/2014/06/recent-relief-sculptures.html

Sunday, June 29, 2014. I'm still roughing out the main forms and applying some finish to others. The head/ face is going to need a bit of tweaking to get a better likeness of Williams. The major forms are mostly blocked in. Some of the final details will be added before and after baking. The rest of the Drum Major's baton/ mace will be added after baking. After the major forms are complete all that remains are the details on the uniform. I hope to see many more from you. August 7, 2014 at 4:17 PM. I was ...

Gary's Miniature Sculpting: Let's begin

http://garyminsculpt.blogspot.com/2012/04/lets-begin.html

Sunday, April 1, 2012. The first step involved scanning the art and then reducing it to the actual size of the finished piece. I took a piece of acetate and traced (yes, I cheated) the painting. The acetate "tracing" was taped to a piece of white paper and traced again sing a piece of waxed paper. A fine point Sharpie worked fine for drawing on the waxy surface. Well done . Jeff. Gary's Miniature Sculpting: May 2012

http://garyminsculpt.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 24, 2012. The techniques used to make this relief are the same as those used for the Confederate bugler. So if you're trying to make a relief of your own refer to those other posts in those areas where I may have unintentionally skipped over. The photographs in the following image are intentionally dark so the steps can be more clearly seen. Thursday, May 10, 2012. Though I was happy with the way the confederate relief came out, something was missing. The Artist Preservation Group (APG)...

Gary's Miniature Sculpting: March 2012

http://garyminsculpt.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Saturday, March 31, 2012. Now that things are moving a long I can post something new. The next project is my donation for the Artist Preservation Group. It's been a long time since I've done a relief sculpture. The project was started after getting permission from Historical Artist Keith Rocco to reproduce one of his studies. The subject is a Confederate cavalry bugler. Check out more of Keith's work at http:/ www.keithrocco.com/. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Radek Pituch, ARTIBUS.
