Sunday, October 25, 2009. Sunday in Siena. We hung out at the main piazza, then watched the soccer game (Siena vs Juventus) from a wine bar next to the field. We enjoyed walking through the city, where we tasted our first gelato in Italy. There's not much to do in Siena.actually, there's not much to do in any of the cities except drink wine and eat pizza. Friday, October 23, 2009. We spent all of Friday wandering around Rome, mostly doing the tourist loop. Starting in Spagna (The Spanish Steps) we meandered down to the Trevi Fountain, then the ancient Roman Forum, ending up at the Colleseum. Drinking beer and eating pizza the whole way. At night we found a spooky church (Bascilica S. Maria degli Angeli) that had statues without eyes half-embedded in the doors. Real, live gladiators! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Thursday, October 22, 2009. Bet you never heard this reason for a flight delay: a dead Italian! No shit - we got in an accident! The good news is the tow truck driver brought us back to the airport and we got another car without too much issue.
