Hebel: From Sinner to Singer
http://absurdity-of-absurdities.blogspot.com/2014/09/from-sinner-to-singer.html
Tuesday, September 23, 2014. From Sinner to Singer. Paul is probably picking up on the idea prevalent in the Old Testament that we become what we worship. This is seen in Isaiah; the prophet is commissioned to preach to his idolatrous generation with the result that they deaf, blind, and dull hearted (Isaiah 6:9-10) – just like the idols they worship (Isaiah 42:8, 17-25)! Hence why one of things the Servant of the Lord brings is the restoration of sight to the blind. These are thy gifts; they are good, f...

The Old Path Restored. A Layman's View from the Pew in the Reformed Episcopal Church. Monday, April 12, 2010. Prof R.W. Meade has a link to the newest craze in doll-sized Episcopal Clergy:. I will quote his insightful view of why the Episcopal Church has fallen under Judgement:. As our estranged Roman Catholic cousins might say.BINGO! Forty years in the Wilderness seems about right. The Old Path Restored: Reformation Sunday - A Bulwark Never Failing
http://theoldpathrestored.blogspot.com/2010/10/reformation-sunday-bulwark-never-failing.html
The Old Path Restored. A Layman's View from the Pew in the Reformed Episcopal Church. Sunday, October 31, 2010. Reformation Sunday - A Bulwark Never Failing. To those "Anglicans" who question the effectiveness of the Reformation, or whether is was a good thing - today, as we read of alleged "Anglicans" abandoning the reformed Church of England for reprobate Rome, we are reminded that the winnowing of grain from stubble is an ongoing and perpetual process until Kingdom come. A Process Driven Life. Forbidd...

and another thing.... or three: A Read Book - Guidance and the Voice of God - Phillip Jensen
http://andanotherthingorthree.blogspot.com/2010/02/read-book-guidance-and-voice-of-god.html
And another thing. or three. Sunday, February 14, 2010. A Read Book - Guidance and the Voice of God - Phillip Jensen. This book is classic Philip (the mostly good, the slightly frustrating, and the always parochial! It started life as a sermon series for uni students and shows it's heritage in that it was always going to be finite in scope. There is much taught clearly in the book - as you would expect - but being a sermon series not always at the depth that some would hope for. I'd give it about a 7/10.

http://andanotherthingorthree.blogspot.com/2011/07/another-book-read-sticky-teams-larry.html
And another thing. or three. Sunday, July 17, 2011. Another Book Read - Sticky Teams - Larry Osborne. A book about leadership of teams in a ministry context. A few people have really loved this book and recommended it highly, I guess by the time I read it a lot of the wisdom in it had already filtered through various channels to not be a surprise when I read it in the end. Some good stuff, some slight madness - a warm hug - it is not! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

The Old Path Restored: March 2009
http://theoldpathrestored.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
The Old Path Restored. A Layman's View from the Pew in the Reformed Episcopal Church. Wednesday, March 11, 2009. That’s Celtic-British for Magonus Succetus, which is the Latin name for the man who would be known to modern-day Irish Christians as Naomh Pádraig, that is to say…. Patrick is important to Anglicans because he is, without really stretching, an Anglican. Born in The North (probably not far from Chester), and schooled in early British churchmanship. Fifth-century Rome was in no way the juggernau...

The Old Path Restored. A Layman's View from the Pew in the Reformed Episcopal Church. Friday, February 20, 2009. Occasionally someone will ask me, via email, if I’m clergy. It gives me a grin, until I recollect some of the clergy blogging out there. I suspect this is the Holy Spirit, whispering, “Down, peacock” in my ear. We’re the infantry. When we look at portraits of Henry VIII, he is often surrounded by what we call “beefeaters” – actually, they were (and remain) the Yeoman Guardsme...The United Stat...
