David's Birding Diary

Monday, February 18, 2008. Still lingering on Burrowes. Resting on the bank in front of Hanson Hide. One of up to 20 birds giving excellent views from the viewing ramp at ******* pits. Posted by David's Birding Diary at 11:18 AM. Sunday, February 03, 2008. Part of the assembled crowd on the beach at Bolougne, a large one by French standards (even though more than half of the birders present were British) The previous day saw just three birders present! The bird in action. Monday, January 28, 2008. Since ...

David's Birding Diary: November 2005

http://davidsbirdingdiary.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html

Wednesday, November 23, 2005. More pics as promised. This bird showed stupidly well down to less than 8 feet, A pity the same could not be said for the Black Scoter (Though I should imagine people have had worse) Another 2 quality lifers and a great day out. A shame the sun didnt stay on the Heron just a bit longer. Posted by David's Birding Diary at 12:26 PM. View my complete profile. Kit Day Bird Photography/a. Weedon's World of Nature.

David's Birding Diary: September 2005

http://davidsbirdingdiary.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html

Thursday, September 29, 2005. Wow havn't done this for AGES! The past couple of months have been pretty hectic with the year list at an all time high! Other hilights there have included 2 different Wrynecks and Osprey that I have managed to miss. twice! Starting college on the 22nd September gave me a slight advantage as I was able to spend more time in Norfolk! A Tawny Owl has regularly been using the small copse next to the road at Snettisham just outside the bungalow, though this is the 1st time I hav...

David's Birding Diary: Overdue update

http://davidsbirdingdiary.blogspot.com/2008/01/overdue-update.html

Wednesday, January 16, 2008. Red necked grebe on the Long Pits. Since the death of my most recent camera I have taken very few pictures, only resorting to the origional Nickon on a handfull of occasions, hence the lack of any reacent updates. Whilst I wait to upload my most recent pictures, heres a few from the archives. A Purple Sandpiper that I found on the outflow pipes at the end of Denge Marsh road (8th reserve record! David's Birding Diary: Spot the birdie

http://davidsbirdingdiary.blogspot.com/2008/01/spot-birdie.html

Monday, January 28, 2008. Somewhere, hidden amongst the passing Gannet and Kittiwake, is a Sooty Shearwater. Hand held against the scope, hence the large dark ring creeping into the right hand corner of the picture. Posted by David's Birding Diary at 9:57 AM. View my complete profile. Feather Weather: Macaulay Recording Workshop

http://featherweather.blogspot.com/2010/01/macaulay-recording-workshop.html

Where it's always a good day to talk about birds. Friday, January 22, 2010. A few weeks ago Nathan Pieplow explained on his excellent blog. Earbirding how he got into recording bird songs. In his post he also put out a call to arms as it were to his readers to go out and get more involved in recording as a means of making real contributions to the science of ornithology, and a couple weeks later he provided a short, off-the-cuff sample of the myriad of topics. The Not Very Big Year: August 2006

http://notverybigyear.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html

The Not Very Big Year. Trying to see as many British breeding birds as possible. August 27, 2006. From my other blog, Bogbumper. It's a bit silly to go to the north Norfolk coast on a Bank Holiday weekend and then moan because there are lots of people about. Lots of birds at Titchwell, too. Mixed flock of Dunlin and Curlew Sandpipers. Bathtime for Ringed Plover. Had counted 24 species of wader on the lagoons and beach, which I think would have been. Lunch was had at The Chequers Inn. Leica Apo Televid 77.
