Is a new treatment for Multiple Sclerosis or MS. The scientific name for Campath. And the drug will in future be marketed as Lemtrada. It is now approved for use in MS in the USA and Europe. The drug is a monoclonal antibody designed to target that part of the immune system which is assumed to be harming people with MS (PwMS). It has been developed for a number of years, and has already been used as a treatment for B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. Approval has now been granted from the FDA in America.
