A Sangha Memorial Site. June 27, 2012. 8220;‘Farewell dear friend’ by David Chadwick”. Also at Sweeping Zen, David Chadwick — Suzuki roshi biographer and Zen priest — offers Katherine Thanas a loving farewell:. I met Katherine when she first came to sit and practice with Suzuki Roshi and the rest of us in 1967. She was older than many of us, late thirties, was quiet and curious. Katherine always questioned assumptions, not in a contrarian way, really sincerely. . . . Filed under For Katherine Thanas.

We found the BEST HIKE EVER, the Ptarmigan Falls / Iceberg Lake Trail in Glacier National Park. OK, so this isn’t a “California Wildflower Hike”, but we sure found a lot of wildflowers. Plus spectacular scenery. Plus a grizzly bear…. Note: Click on any photograph to see a larger image.
