Writing Bugs For Fun and Profit. I’m an ex-lawyer, ex-physicist and ex-company director. The only thing I’m lacking now is an ex-wife. As it is I have a wife and child(ren, soon). My technology interests are network programming, functional languages and Linux/OSx. I like writing servers and I’m interested in hacking p2p and anonymity/privacy software: basically, anything that upsets the MPA or the NSA/GCHQ. Pet hates: Richard Stallman, the MPA and clueless politicians wanking on about tech issues.

Writing Bugs For Fun and Profit. Choosing an IDE that can cope with several languages. I recently had a yearning to debug using something more sophisticated than print statements. As a technique it works fine (I believe Linus Torvalds uses it in hacking Linux for example) but it does end to leave one’s code splattered with geek droppings: lots of. Print “foobar #{var1}”.
