Here is a quick list of what I've been doing this summer and also my summer lovin'plans! Gifted and Talented Class. 2nd Grade Core Academy Workshop. 3rd Wedding Aniversary Las Vegas. Salt Lake for a week- Anatomy and Physiology class. Content Literacy Instruction Class. Family Camping Trip Beaver Mountain. 5 Year DHS reunion. School Starts Aug. 11th!

Friday, December 18, 2009. 7 gifts you can give that don't cost money. I gave this exact writing prompt to my students this week. Twas hilarious and utterly adorable! Give them hand-me down clothes. You can thank them. Tell them you're thankful for Jesus. Invite them over for dinner. Make them a homemade card. And last and definately not least. Give them something that's free. Merry Christmas to everyone! My plans during our 2 week break-. Get my life back into shape (gotta love being emo).

Friday, May 1, 2009. Today is graduation day. Up until this day I've been anxious and excited, but now I am starting to feel the emotions of what this really means. I guess it has finally hit me. Now as it comes to an end, I can look back and see how I've learned and grown, struggled and conquered, worked hard and played. Here are just a few memories:. First day of college feeling: excited, yet nervous, but mostly excited about all the handsome fellas on campus. What I will miss: red cohort classmates.

Friday, October 9, 2009. Opportunity only knocks once. As some of you know, I have a new job! I am now teaching at Bloomington Hills Elementary- 2nd grade! So here's how it happened:. My first week has been very tiring due to super long days and nights of preparation at the school. I honestly feel like I have been there for a month, not a week. But I love the kids. I love the school. I love the principal and I have the best 2nd grade team ever! Wow, they are amazing teachers! So there's the scoop.

Thursday, June 10, 2010. It's been about 3 months since my diagnosis of anxiety. I am doing really well with the medication I am taking. Infact, I feel like myself again.like a rebirth, it's great! I have been studying books about anxiety and depression and have really become aware of what it means to have a mental illness. Myth- Once on an anti-deppressant, you'll be on them forever. Fact- Depending on your individual experience with depression, most people enter re-mission after 6-8 months of medication.

Friday, November 20, 2009. This is what I was trained on this last week. It's a new and improved, successfull, student friendly, teacher friendly "literacy centers" program. It is amazing. I am not yet doing it in my class but I plan on reading the book over Christmas break and starting it in January. Here's the gist. Instead of doing "centers" students do five things everyday during the daily five. 1 Read to self (Silent Reading) at independent level. 2 Read to someone (at independent level). Blake and ...
