I've been working a lot these last few weeks, and I've been feeling extremely guilty about it. On top of working, there's my gym time that I squeeze in when I can. After a 12 hour day today, I drove home with a heavy heart. Is she aware I'm not around? I went straight to her room and watched her sleep for a couple minutes. What I really wanted to do was pick her up and squeeze her!

Tuesday, November 15, 2011. Day 2 of Chemo. Day 2 of chemo begins at 6am. The zofran seems to keep the nausea down and Shannon continues to eat. Her nurse told me earlier this morning that the Busulfan side effects begin 2-3 weeks after the first dose. So for now nausea is most of what we would see. She is such a trooper. Tuesday, February 05, 2013. I've tried to roast chicken in the past and I usually undercook it. I've tried to roast veggies in the past and I usually burn them to a crisp. How to find the middle ground? Roasted chicken and vegetables. 2 1/2 - 3 lbs bone-in chicken pieces (a whole cut-up chicken works). 3 tbs olive oil. 3-4 sprigs fresh thyme. Veggies (use what you like, omit what makes you gag). Broccoli, one bunch cut into florets. Carrots, 2 lbs, peeled and cut into 2 inch lengths. New potatoes, halved.
