The three of us did the 8.8 miles of it and found the most challenging part to be the massive clustered boulders that you have to scramble over and under and around. We recommend it very highly. Monday, July 7, 2008. Whiteoak Falls Hike is 2nd most popular in SNP, VA. You will be able to view four of the six waterfalls and cascades on this somewhat challenging 8.2 mile hike through the verdant Shenandoah woods. Two of us did this one, but because our time was limited we only went down to the upper and lower falls, then came back the same way. A ranger estimated that we hiked about six miles round trip.
