Wednesday, January 18, 2012. After many weeks of bouncing around the US, I'm finally settling back into the swing of things in Nicaragua. I've moved out of Managua and up into to the mountains of Matagalpa, a region well known for it's cooler and wetter environment, perfect for the harvest of café. Unlike the sweaty and smoggy heat of Managua, Matagalpa sits in a valley and is blessed with a refreshing mountain breeze. It's really no surprise that the city is often known as la Perla del Septentrión.
