Gail Mail: ALIA Education and Workforce Summit
http://gail-schmidt.blogspot.com/2008/03/alia-education-and-workforce-summit.html
Thursday, March 20, 2008. ALIA Education and Workforce Summit. I am extremely disappointed that the Pre-Summit meeting (evening of 27th March) has been cancelled due to a low response. It was scheduled to take place prior to the Education and Workforce Summit at SLV (28th March) and was open to all ALIA members. This evening meeting would have provided a valuable opportunity for interested people to discuss issues relevant to the forum, which is an invitation only event. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Monday, February 18, 2008. Welcome to the first edition of Gail Mail. In this first edition of Gail Mail, I'm reminding you of the forthcoming ALIA Board of Directors election. 2008 After many years participating in activities and events as a 'grass roots' ALIA member, I felt the time was right to stand as a candidate for the ALIA B.O.D. I look forward to sharing more thoughts, ideas and comments with you on a regular basis. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Gail Mail: We Leapt into Leadership
http://gail-schmidt.blogspot.com/2008/03/we-leapt-into-leadership.html
Thursday, March 6, 2008. We Leapt into Leadership. What a hugely successful day the ALIA Leap into Leadership workshop and seminar at the State Library of Victoria turned out to be! After lunch attendees broke into smaller groups to explore leadership themes and workshop issues with a team of facilitators drawn from across the library and information sector. LLOs in touch: October 2007
http://llosintouch.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
This blog is a communication tool for the Australian Library and Information Association's Local Liaison Officers. Wednesday, October 24, 2007. This was due to your sourcing of free or cheap venues and catering and also to your publicity. The feedback that I've had so far from attendees is also positive about the content and the organisation. Profile of new graduates report. To my mind 3 things stood out that we as LLO's could have a direct impact on;. Lack participation and undertanding of the PD Scheme.

Journey of a new librarian. Travel, or how I broaden my mind. There are many reasons why it would be easy for me to hate my journey to and fro work. 8216;Late…again’. From alistair 35’s Flickr photos. And reproduced under a Creative Commons Licence. And why would anyone drive when the train stops right in the middle of the campus. Of course, Connex apologised for any inconvenience caused. Last week Connex gave out free sample boxes of cereal, as if to say: ‘sorry for making you late for work again ...

Journey of a new librarian. A grasshopper leaped from his leg, and other book memes. While we’re on the topic of books, which I’m always more than happy to discuss, I’m going to stray a little from 23 Things with a book meme I found through Ruminations. A meme, for those who don’t know, is defined as:. 8216;Any unit of cultural information, such as a practice or idea, that is transmitted verbally or by repeated action from one mind to another.’ (. To being the Annoyed Librarian. Rules for this book meme:.
