There weren’t many people who knew I was writing a book. It’s not my style to announce my projects before. They happen, as I prefer to get the work done first then reveal and revel in their completion. And from the handful of people who were aware that I was working on a book, even fewer knew what the cover looked like. As proof of how secretive I can be, even my own husband, my Bin, is seeing the book cover for the first time today, along with everyone else. In March, the month I submitted my manuscript.

Hi there, glad you found me! I’m Lori Baltazar. A food writer with too many sweet teeth. I started Dessert Comes First (DCF) in May 2005. I tell my stories about food on this blog and through my photos. Also called Dessert Comes First. Which came out in September 2013. In 2015, the year I was supposed to celebrate DCF’s 10th anniversary, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a curveball alright – you can read about it here. The chef was really good and he taught us how to bake a Milk Chocolate Cake, Milk Chocolate Sans Rival Cake and Milk Chocolate Toffee bars! Notice the repeated use of milk chocolate? Milk Chocolate Sans Rival Cake! I wasn't able to picture the Milk Chocolate Toffee Bar since I already gobbled it all up! It was seriously the best of the bunch! Just thinking about is making me hungry!
