Remmy's Place: November 2008
http://remmysplace.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Being the ideas and mental meanderings from the life of a Seattle denizen. Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Tonight was an historic moment for my nation. A man was elected president who less than a generation ago would not have been. He presented a promise of a new direction. A possibility of a better future. Now he has to deliver on that promise. Time will tell. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Seattle, Washington, United States. View my complete profile. A few of my favorite things to do. Tunes on the MP3 player.

Remmy's Place: September 2008
http://remmysplace.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Being the ideas and mental meanderings from the life of a Seattle denizen. Tuesday, September 30, 2008. Proposal Night. From both sides. First of all, the background: May and I have been talking about getting married for a while. We agreed that we should go through May's mom (Marguerite) to get the engagement ring, as she has fabulous contacts in the gem industry and has impecible taste. May knew that she wanted a color-change sapphire, but after that point Marguerite and I took over. Just before dessert&...

Remmy's Place: July 2008
http://remmysplace.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Being the ideas and mental meanderings from the life of a Seattle denizen. Thursday, July 31, 2008. I rented a paver saw from Home Depot yesterday and managed to finish the final lay of pavers just before it got dark (It was too dark to take a picture, I'll post one later). It's supposed to be rainy again today and early tomorrow, so I may not be able to lay down the sand until later Saturday afternoon. I'd like to start the cleanup on Sunday. I just need to find a truck to rent! Monday, July 28, 2008.

Remmy's Place: December 2007
http://remmysplace.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Being the ideas and mental meanderings from the life of a Seattle denizen. Sunday, December 30, 2007. It was all going too smoothly, perhaps. So something had to go wrong. The JetBlue flight left Boston on time and arrived early. May's flight was on time too, so we met in the airport terminal as planned. We hopped on the shuttle to pick up the car from MasterPark. I could see the back end of it as we pulled into the lot. I was thinking, ah, just 30 minutes from now I'll be home and ready to climb into bed.

Remmy's Place: My First Motorcycle Crash
http://remmysplace.blogspot.com/2009/06/my-first-motorcycle-crash.html
Being the ideas and mental meanderings from the life of a Seattle denizen. Saturday, June 20, 2009. My First Motorcycle Crash. Ow And did I mention, OW! I'm okay. Nothing broken. My left hip is poofy from the impact and my right foot from being slammed during the tumble. I landed on my left side and my arm gave my ribs a good whack too, but they're just a little bit sore. So far a big dose of Ibuprofen is all I need. So, what was the lesson here? Other than the obvious, "don't crash.it hurts! The rub is ...
