You find me at this time in Uganda, Mbarara to be exact, a small (but major for the country) city in western Uganda which despite being at the equator has a perfect climate due to its 1400 m elevation. This July we are in California (hoo-ray)! Dan took a job with EMP and is working at 3 different EDs in the Sacramento area and I took a fellowship position in EM Ultrasound at the UC Davis Medical Center. On the yummy grain that included a basic recipe for how to cook it. I only discovered quinoa at trader joe's about a year ago, but recently, on the streets of Lima I found out that it's much, much more than a side dish. Ruminations on medicine, life and nonsense. Monday, February 16, 2009. Went to the beach yesterday in Punta Hermosa (Playa Caballos) with Vicky, JoAnn, Sural, and my friend Chris who is visiting. Here's a list of things we bought off the beach from various beach. Vendors . . . 2 CDs (really JoAnn, Backstreet Boys? 3 or 4 pairs of earrings ($1.30). 5 Alaska maracuya popsicles. 1 anklet ($0.60). 2 books (pirated just like the CDs and DVDs), $5 each.
