The next time i cook the same dish, i forget what i finally came up with and try to do it all over again. This is such a comforst food for me. Thursday, October 8, 2009. A picture is worth a thousand words. We are expecting to add a little bundle of joy to our family. HD. And I are very very excited and scared :) I am 22 weeks along ( in my 6 th. Month). These pictures were taken at my valakaapu. Traditional ceremony for pregnant ladies) held at my place with close relatives. How am I feeling? Well the first few months were tough- I am much better now.So, that's what has been keeping me busy and away from the blog. October 8, 2009 at 6:22 PM.

Sunday, November 8, 2009. Experiments- Chicken Salna and chicken drumsticks fry. This is one dish that brings back memories of home- was never made at home really. We always used to buy parotta. From a hotel in my home town. My neighbor back home , C aunty. Used to make the most yummy biryani. Since my pregnancy started I have been averse to too much masala. Spices etc.Now that I am in my 7 th. Month, the aversions are finally gone. Chicken leg fry/ salna. 3) Fry Onions/ yelakai. And chicken is fully done.

Wednesday, September 23, 2009. Although I am from Tamil Nadu, I hate its signature dish- sambar. I cannot stand it! But give me my traditional arachuvitta sambar and I absolutely love it :). This is a more involved recipe than the standard sambar.I had made this last weekend( along with poondu rasam/ beans curry and chepankizhangu roast - yum! 1)Pressure cook thuvaram paruppu (toor dal) and keep aside. 3)Fry mustard seeds,jeera,curry leaves in a little bit of ghee. Awesome arachuvitta sambar is ready!

The year went by pretty fast, as is the case with all years. 2009 will be a special year- the year I became pregnant.I cant believe that in about 6 weeks ( more or less!
