Today we rode 50 k along the canyon, second largest in the world, and then onto the canyon floor. imagine being able to ride your bike into the grand canyon. We rode the entire distance on sand roads, and even Dwight admitted it was a very tough ride. Also very hilly and stong wind. Diana in Namibia, 2010. Sunday, July 18, 2010. Today more biking on rough roads from Solitaire to Walvis Bay and now Swakopmund. Hot air balloon ride over the dunes in the morning. We are all well, and enjoying the desert extremes from relatively hot afternoons, to really cold mornings and nights. The clear sky at night is amazing. We have seen a lot of springbot, gemsbot, meerkats, baboons, and other animals, but still have Etosha park ahead of us in a few days. July 18, 2010 at 2:19 PM.
