Boss’s desk…. Is Digital Transformation opportunity a leveler of the IT service provider landscape? Certain types of service providers are emerging as first among equals…. The enterprise ISVs are pouring billions of dollars to build or acquiring digital solutions. SAP’s reselling of the Adobe Marketing Cloud, its own solutions like SAP JAM, Oracle’s AppAdvantage, its recent acquisition of Front Porch Digital for Digital Asset Management solution suite are just few examples of the Digital ...The OEMs are ...

Boss’s desk…. Are you making career limiting moves as a CIO? But hardly has any CIO reached the CEO-ville of a large corporation. Isn’t it ironic, given that in the last 20 years, companies that leveraged information went on to become the market leader in their respective industry segments. Are CIOs mere gate keepers etc.,. Not having adequate engagement models with business leaders / end user community. Patronising Enterprise Software companies for every business need. Over the last decade, CIOs have co...

“Grate” expectations from the Indian IT industry! | "distilled gyan"
https://distilledgyan.wordpress.com/2015/07/13/grate-expectations-from-the-indian-it-industry
Boss’s desk…. 8220;Grate” expectations from the Indian IT industry! I am suggesting that we grate our expectations from the Indian IT industry. At least for now. Recent quarterly results from TCS (falling below street expectations 4th quarter in row) just re-iterates the fact that the Indian IT story is slowing down. Just to put it in context, the growth rate has slowed to 9% from 15%. Margins were as per streets expectation well, why not? Customers are leveraging the competitive market situation amongst...

Boss’s desk…. Key tenets for setting up a Digital Transformation Services unit. Though the Indian service providers have jumped onto the digital services bandwagon, their strategy and initiatives are still at a very nascent stage. As they shape things up here is my wish list…. I wish the Indian service providers…. Establish a position and differentiate right now:. It is critical to take a position in the early stages because it will have a direct impact on the organization structure, its agility, the mar...

Boss’s desk…. I was fortunate to inherit and subsequently build a strong and wonderful team. We always knew that we were only as strong as the weakest link! So, we worked hard to strengthen every link. Team spirit was not something that was a given…. We used to fight passionately, disagree vehemently and there were days when we had to really work hard on our relationships at work, but, we as a team would always agree to one thing – That we have to be the best in business no matter what! Oligopoly as a go...

Core purpose of Digital Transformation: Reduce customer “grief”! | "distilled gyan"
https://distilledgyan.wordpress.com/2015/08/05/core-purpose-of-digital-transformation-reduce-customer-grief
Boss’s desk…. Core purpose of Digital Transformation: Reduce customer grief! The key question however is, have these companies got the core purpose for digital transformation right? With the level of connectivity and data they are putting out about themselves, their preferences and needs, the customers are just not willing to put up with the grief of availing a typical service any more. In my view, two strands of the Digital Transformation DNA are customer data and customer connectivity . The hitherto qu...
