Dispatches from Iowa

Friday, February 17, 2006. One more before the weekend. I didn’t think I was going to get to post anything today, but I have some time so here you go. Then there is some sweet to balance out the sour. I was headed east on Interstate 80 and the sun was making its way up. The wind had kicked up big clouds of snow that seem to float in the air and linger for a while. The sun was hitting these little clouds in such a way that it was reflecting the orange and red light. It was gorgeous. Ramblings of a douche.

Dispatches from Iowa: el dorado

http://www.dispatchesfromiowa.blogspot.com/2006/02/el-dorado.html

Tuesday, February 07, 2006. Let’s build our roads to look like that! There’s no way to make this more complicated. You can come around a slight bend in the road, and no shit they street is something different. A road will dead end only to be picked up again on the other side of some fucker’s farm. If you’re at an intersection, you can turn right and go down 64th Street, or turn left and travel down 27th Street. Huh? Posted by Phil at 2/07/2006. Iowa, United States. View my complete profile.

Dispatches from Iowa: hot chocolate

http://www.dispatchesfromiowa.blogspot.com/2006/02/hot-chocolate.html

Wednesday, February 15, 2006. You sometimes find reasons to smile in the most unexpected places. I used to get teased from some guys I hung out with for a short time in high school that I was able to pin point the best fill in the blank I ever had. This isn’t only the case with food products. It could be the best anything, but of course being a fat fuck who likes his food I have an autistic’s memory for places I’ve eaten. What are you doing? Wife: You look like you’re making love to that banana split.

Inside Complex Girl: May 2005

http://insidecomplexgirl.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html

It's all about me, deal with it. Tuesday, May 31, 2005. Another turnip or a fork stuck in the road. Rosa reminded me of my Cute Bus Guy. She had a Cute Train Guy but we've only got shitty busses in Craptown. My story is a little different that hers but an equally sad ending. [I think you should have asked him for mouth to mouth as you were feeling a little faint from your arm ordeal but that's just me ;} ]. Wish I'd kept his number. I've always wanted love to be like the movies Serendipity or Singles&#46...

Today's my last day on the supercomputer and I'm really going to miss it. I think I've just got to upgrade full stop. Need to upgrade the shitbox and the connection. We shall see eh? It's all about me, deal with it. Thursday, February 23, 2006. In the middle of my thoughts. Saw a neat bumper sticker on the way home today:. Just imagine what you could do if you knew you couldn't fail. I like that. I think it's just what I needed at the moment. Dispatches from France

The story of an American girl who followed a French boy home. Tuesday, October 08, 2013. Man, this has been one hell of a year. Shortly after I wrote my last post, a lot of things happened at once. Most of them happened inside my head. But, no. I found myself at a conference in Paris, surrounded by office-type people talking about banal office-type things, and I thought, "what the hell am I doing with these people? But the truth is, I'm not the same person that I was in 2004. I don't see the world th...

Dispatches from Heck

Random thoughts on the topics I spend most of my time thinking about: the steady deterioration of our freedom, the importance of the Bill of Rights, and the joys of travel. Wednesday, March 21, 2018. The Wrong Path To School Safety. And Everytown for Gun Safety. Why not the — to the gun-rights proponents — more sensible tactic of allowing properly-trained teachers to carry on the job? And on and on. Most of those arguments are based on pure fantasy or pure fatalism. Teachers aren't supposed to be cops.
