September 17, 2012. Another Year of School Begins. So I'm worried that my last few posts were too seriouslysoblessed. I PROMISE my summer was also filled with a myriad of meltdowns from a myriad of children, sibling squabbles that verged on wars, exclamations that I was unfair and the worst, tantrums and tempers and tears and lots and lots and lots of whining. I just don't tend to take pictures of those shining moments . hmm, maybe I should . He was only SLIGHTLY embarrassed at my picture taking.). I tol...

June 7, 2012. So my wicked cute and creative husband decided to make something, but wouldn't tell me what it was. He asked me to order some pictures from Shutterfly (correction: LOTS of pictures from Shutterfly). I watched him fiddle with an old pallet we found in our backyard. I listened to my four year old tell me "Mom! You can't know it's a SECRET! And then I came home from book group last week to a wicked cute smile and this on my wall. Here are the little clothespins - aren't they PRECIOUS? And now ...

December 26, 2009. The luscious golden locks are gone. It was a sudden, spur of the moment thing - I had just showered Peanut and brushed his hair - always a dangerous time, because it always looks much, much longer wet. Much longer. And, admittedly, it had been looking awfully long dry as well. In my mind's eye, his hair was long but not too long. Still more like this:. Or even this - a little longer, but still not too long:. Until that fateful, wet hair day, I decided it needed a trim. December 9, 2009.

October 26, 2010. It Happened One Night. The Father said. Startled, the Mother mulled over this surprising statement. Usually the Father doesn't think of things like that. Hmmm. Trying to delay the inevitable, he even distracted her so she didn't check her Facebook, where he had posted pictures of the butchered hair (yes, the World Wide Web knew before Mother did.) Lying in bed that night, the Mother had an epiphany - "You cut their hair! She exclaimed. She knew it was the. October 13, 2010.

September 20, 2010. Across the street from our house is a large grassy path that meanders through soybean and corn fields. It is the perfect place for bike rides, Sunday walks, and impromptu photo shoots. She might take more pictures! September 18, 2010. Peanut fell in love with some Thomas the Train undies, and in an effort to make him use the potty he has shown he knows how to use, I told him how great it would be if he wore Thomas and kept him dry! March 18, 2010. A Rose By Any Other Name . I am not a huge fan of my first name (love you Mom! It probably started in 4th grade when we learned Spanish for a few weeks and I was assigned the name Juanita. Juanita? That is nothing like my name. Or is it . am I really a Juanita? But I LOVE my middle name (thanks Mom! From time to time I have flirted with going by my middle name instead of my first name, but what a pain that would be! How annoying and presumptuous of me. May 13, 2012. So FYI, I'm starting a book blog. I know, I know, it's because I'm so stellar at this one, right? Why not do another one? Seriously though, I love books and I love talking about books and I love sharing what I've read in books. So why not? I think it's about time - I should have done it years ago. So, what has been going on in my life besides starting another blog? Just life. And kids. And my hubby. Oh, and we got a dog. I know. My Jace turned TWELVE! Friends came to visit! The ramblings of...
