http://mariehampson.blogspot.com/2013/09/artful-readers-july.html
Friday, 6 September 2013. Artful Readers - July. Slowly catching up with my Artful Readers posts :). In case you you don't what I'm talking about then check out Darcy's blog. But basically we have all chosen 12 books that have been sitting on our bookshelves patiently waiting to be read - we read them, review them and do some art inspired by them. My book for July was "The Black Echo" by Michael Connelly. Again, like June's effort, this is pretty simple. And a quote. Done! August's book was "A Game of Th...

Diary of a Crafter: January 2012
http://mariehampson.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, 22 January 2012. Week 3 - Brazil. The country this week at Darcy's Postcard Challenge. A country I'd love to visit though I think I'll have to wait a few years until Connor is a bit older! After doing a bit of research I came across the artist Romero Britto who is originally from Brazil. His biography says he started by drawing on surfaces such as newspaper so my postcard is his "Paradise Tondo" drawn with ProMarkers on book print which I ripped up and lightly gessoed. Friday, 2 May 2014. Christmas Tree O Christmas Tree. What do you mean, Christmas is finished? OK, so I only finished these yesterday but hey ho, if you want to do something similar you have a whole year to make them :). Browsing through Pinterest (as you do) I spotted some green and white Christmas trees, very simple patterns - stripes, dots etc and thought I could make something similar. Unlike most other things I find on Pinterest, I got started straight away! And then some green ink splats. And some s...

Diary of a Crafter: April 2013
http://mariehampson.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Monday, 22 April 2013. Artful Readers Club - March. My book for March's Artful Reader's Club run by the very talented Darcy. Was World War Z by Max Brooks. I will admit that this went on my list because the film is due out soon and I like a good zombie film :) Also, if a film adaptation looks good I like to have read the book beforehand. What did I think? I'd recommend this book for anyone who loves a good bit of zombie or post-apocalyptic fiction :). Monday, April 22, 2013. Labels: Artful Readers Club.
